♠️♥️ My First Deck: The One That Started It All ♦️♣️

Greetings, fellow seekers of the extraordinary!

I’m excited to share the deck that opened the door to this incredible world of cardistry and collecting:
My Red Bicycle Rider Backs

While they may not grace the halls of rarity or auction blocks, this deck holds a magic all its own. It’s the first deck I practiced with.
The one that taught my hands to flourish and fumble, to spring and fan, to dream beyond the ordinary.

I’m not ready to break out my rarer decks for show just yet, but this Rider Back has earned every crease and fade from hours of use.
Every crease, every faded edge, is a mark of hours spent chasing wonder.
I’m inspired by the decks shared here and honored to add my own humble beginning to the mix. Let’s see more of your treasures!

Hey everyone! I don't feel like messing with bbcode in my posts today, but here is another deck in my collection: Its my Shirosu deck.

When it comes to cardistry; these are my absolute favorite in terms of handling. They also faro easily for moves like waterfall cascade, friffle, big fans and they also rebound well from more abusive moves like under pressure.

I always run like 5 unique decks during a practice session so I don't use these guys exclusively, but I always start and end on good notes with them. I might get some heat for this final comment, but I think Shirosu's should be a staple in every cardist's deck box.

I do have an open deck - and yeah - I can give you heat ;)

They are nice, but not my favorite in terms of handling (and longevity) - but that being rather subjective, I can’t say you are wrong :)

My favorites include Dan and Dave Steamboat and Vintage Plaid, Cardistry Ninjas, Virtuoso, King of Tigers, Cherry Casino, Madison Rounders, and Grinders - not a complete list by any means - and all are pretty different in feel, but top notch in their own right.

🐋 My White Whale 🐋

For years, the Bicycle Lotus Backs haunted my hunt list. Not because they were the rarest, nor the flashiest but because they demanded the perfect specimen. Every time one surfaced I’d look, hope and then I’d pass. Too yellowed, too scuffed, too warped. I held out not for a copy, but for the copy and I’m glad I did.

Because this deck, the one now resting in my collection, met every impossible standard I’ve carried in my head for years. It’s sharp, clean and a time traveler from 1932 that somehow skipped the aging process. I didn’t just pull the trigger; I knew this was the one the moment I saw it.

To some it’s just a deck, to me it’s proof that patience and obsession sometimes pay off.

I know many of you have your own white whales you’ve chased not with urgency, but with intention. If you haven’t caught yours yet then keep your harpoons ready. The right one always surfaces.. Eventually!

Congrats :)

Went through a few white whales until I speared my last, until the next appears on the horizon. Always a patient hunt for such things.

Actually now that I think about it - the v1 Hunting Deck has been an unnamed white whale since the day I saw it…. time to update the profile…
