I had to do it. Hope those that complained about the silver arrow project realize now how silly their complaints were.
Feeding the addiction one deck at a time.

Pledged. Those US Army emblems are so nice in this etch style, and I really like this watercolor/conceptual art style for the faces. Had no idea (but should probably not be surprised anymore that) Jackson had that yet another style in him until I saw the first of these Aces.
Yes, I might be the guy you remember from that thing at that place way back when.

It's not silly, maybe some people can't afford a brick, or don't want to buy a brick, just saying.Cbkimble wrote:I had to do it. Hope those that complained about the silver arrow project realize now how silly their complaints were.

Yeah, this looks nice. It would be nice if a stretch goal was a small percentage goes to wounded warriors but I know Jackson is a business man and can't just give money away. I'm probably in on this one. I wonder if Jackson has a certain amount of money he expects to take in before cancelling a project.

Glad to have your support. Unfortunately it is against Kickstarter guidelines to use your project for charitable purposes. However crowdtilt open and in turn Kings Wild Funded are fully capable of contributing to charitable organizations. I'm still working out some details but will most likely be running a separate campaign on Kings Wild Funded at the same time as the Army Kickstarter for the very purposes of raising money to produce a number of the Army decks to be donated directly to organization like wounded worriers. I just want to make sure that I do it in a manner that doesn't go against any Kickstarter guidelines. No matter what happens I will personally donating an entire gross my self.walrus wrote:Yeah, this looks nice. If it goes well, I will be able to do it with every single branches deck as well.
This project, if funded, will NOT be canceled for any reason. That is one of the main reasons it is simple and straightforward.

Re: United States ARMY deck - Kings Wild Relaunch Now Live K
The courts look fantastic, but how would the different eras match up to each other ? A progression from diamonds to spades ?
While I don't mind the tuck, I think the back is lacking coherence, it seems like different elements are lacking a tie-together, but maybe that's just me ?

Re: United States ARMY deck - Kings Wild Relaunch Now Live K
The main difference I wanted to make, compared from the first campaign is that this is not about any one person or historic figure It is about the Army as one unit from the day it was formed in 1775 all the way until now. I purposefully want the differences and feelings of each card to be different. I think it illustrates how much of a varying past America has through its History. You will see action portraits like that of the QoS and you will even see family portraits of actual backers loved ones as courts. It's this difference I want to help drive home the fact that it is an Army of one made up of all different races, colors, sexes and even religions. One simple framework you will see is that Kings will either be higher ranking individuals or "highest" honors individuals like the AoS. The watercolor style is so stark and different that at want it to be a main visual back bone element that is true throughout the deck no matter how varying the courts are.volantangel wrote:The courts look fantastic, but how would the different eras match up to each other ? As for the tuck, I wanted to keep my own original design as that is my stamp on this deck, I didn't want to abandon my entire style but wanted to updated it to fit the new direction. I have a colored version of the tuck and back, but am not quite happy with it. You will most likely see it but when its ready. The tuck case is the least of my priorities compared to my want to really nail the story of the people as the courts.

I'm in, I think it's a beautiful deck, one of your best ones yet. I love the aces, the portrait courts, etc, and the price is good. I think this'll do very well, and I look forward to the rest of the series too.JacksonRobinson wrote:The main difference I wanted to make, compared from the first campaign is that this is not about any one person or historic figure It is about the Army as one unit from the day it was formed in 1775 all the way until now. Jackson, first thanks so much for engaging with us here again, despite some of the abuse you've taken (not the criticism, but the hate). I believe you can take the critics, but things did get out of control. Glad to see you're still around.
Although, I'm not a big watercolor style fan, it's nice to see you breaking out into other styles. The money look was getting a bit overdone and this is a good new approach for the time being, but I still really like the tuck. I also still did pledge for a single deck, this is worth having.

I'd just like to say, Jackson, it's really cool that you're asking for submissions for personnel. I just sent in a couple pics of my father for consideration.

Jackson, might I suggest a family member of mine Alonzo Cushing. He has a monument at Gettysburg and was recently given the medal of honor, I think it was last year, posthumously of course. Plenty of pictures and info if you Google his name.

Walrus, Alonzo is a great candidate. I don't know if you are a backer or not (and this is not me trying to get you to become one) but for legal reasons I'm keeping the photo submissions to backers only. I have a little more control over getting permission and release from backers as I have their direct contact info. All the families/backers that I end up using their photos will receive a photo release form. I know how lame that probably sounds but thats the nuts a bolts of it. If you are a backer please feel free to send me some images atwalrus wrote:Jackson, might I suggest a family member of mine Alonzo Cushing. Makes sense Jackson. I don't know if I could legally sign anything as I found we are distant relations through genealogy. Anyway, I like the whole idea of what you are doing.

Re: United States ARMY deck - Kings Wild Relaunch Now Live K
Will these be available at the Kings Wild store? I pledged for a few decks (and received them today), and they are great. Turns out, I may have a few more friends/family I want to send decks to than I'd anticipated....

Re: United States ARMY deck - Kings Wild Relaunch Now Live K
I printed a total of around 3000 decks of which 2000 or so went to fulfill KS rewards. The remaining 1000 or so decks will be available on the Nomades Webstore. Nomades is the company I collaborated with that holds all of the military licenses. I would suspect they will be available on their site in the next month or so.rousselle wrote:Will these be available at the Kings Wild store?
