I did look at playing cards. The face cards came with hidden Augusta icons, such as magnolia blossoms and azaleas, designed by a local artist, Haley Tam Wood.

“We had 500 sets of cards at $65 each,” a clerk said, “and we sold them all Monday.”

I resisted the $150 commemorative coins and $75 cuff links but purchased two sets of playing cards ($65 each) designed by local artist Haley Tam Wood and packaged in elegant wood boxes. The product description says the cards “tell the story” of the Masters, with blooming dogwoods on the queens and golf-ball cuffs on the kings.

I was lucky enough to get this set for free due to a defect in the display case. I love the fully custom artwork and, as a golfer, these scratch multiple itches
