Absolutely! There is usually more than meets the eye at first glance. Your presence in the hobby is appreciated. Thanks for your thoughts.A. Haines wrote: ↑Thu Apr 10, 2025 8:06 am $7.50usd per deck sounds much more realistic, I agree.
Kevork's quotes appeared to range from $0.66 to $2.46 per deck, for low print runs. Those numbers are unfeasibly low, and unheard of unless you are setting out to produce a cheap product. You might get each deck down down to $2.46 if you're a large supplier ordering 10k decks per design or something like that, I've not had reason to find out. And that's before considering shipping and import fees that need to be factored into the final overall cost: just talking about what the manufacturer charges you to print.
I have no angle to play here other than not wanting collectors feeling like they're being ripped off by creators who are paying a dollar or two to produce each deck. That is simply not the case (not close).
Cheers!

Don't get me wrong, WJPC never explained or provided me any information on the paper stocks they have so perhaps the quote is for the cheapest option possible. That would suck if I was a first time producer and had no idea. It would be too late after I've paid and end up receiving crap quality.

Research is important and I would like to think that the experienced producers wouldn't mind answering a couple questions from the newbies if need be.kevork wrote: ↑Thu Apr 10, 2025 11:55 am Don't get me wrong, WJPC never explained or provided me any information on the paper stocks they have so perhaps the quote is for the cheapest option possible. Hey laito - another couple of notes * you might like to addlaitostarr777 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 03, 2025 9:26 pmYeah, just realized it.... must have failed uploaded yesterday. Already fixed it up!
And also, there's the answer to your question about how 17th Kingdom showed in the Anthology Deck!
I have had time today to look at the deck thoroughly and I noticed that Lorenzo actually jazzed up a couple of cards by superimposing the decks joker over a regular number card
The 4oH and the 6oH are unique to Anthology as they do not appear like that in the regular Parlour deck or the Ravn3 decks
I also suspect that the 4oS may not have had the deck name on it but cannot be sure as I do not have that deck

About the 4S, I can confirm that there's actually the name of the deck on that card, both as shown from my own deck as well as the Gallery from Solitaire17 game app

Re: Stockholm17 Anthology by Lorenzo Gaggiotti
Remember, the decks we are talking about are rejects. By contract (assuming this is a standard arrangement), WJPC really can't sell them to anyone else, so if Lorenzo doesn't buy them, they technically have to be pulped. So, rather than pay to pulp them, they offer Lorenzo a deal -- buy these from us at a substantial savings over what we were going to charge you, and then you get something you can use/sell if you want to, and we don't take a total loss on those decks. QED.
At least, that's how it typically works when a printing house really screws up, but the end product is still, technically, usable (even though it can't be used for its original purpose.)

Okay, the deck *I* had been talking about which led to some of the confusion about which deck I was talking about. THAT deck.

Re: Stockholm17 Anthology by Lorenzo Gaggiotti
I was looking at my copy of the book today and wanting a copy of one of the pics (thick books are hard to scan) when I remembered Lorenzo's blogs.Swiski66 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2024 1:05 pm Bradius mentioned getting a 2nd copy to abuse, and leaving the hardcover in pristine condition. I would love it if there was a PDF version for sale, so we can skim through the book in digital glory on computer or tablet screens, and leave the printed copy all minty!
There is no pdf for the book but if you hover on the 'Projects' tab on his website - choose a project and follow the 'Read More' you get some info and deck pics. It is not in the same league as the book but it is the closest we have to a pdf and especially good for anybody who does not have the Anthology book
