Re: Horror Night by ARK Playing Cards
I got in for the entire set but...why is the super limited black deck so poorly shown in their pictures....not even sure what the faces look like (solid black is my best guess based on the text)
Might have to rethink that at some point.

Re: Horror Night by ARK Playing Cards
On KS, I think the only pics are the embossed metal plate and the tuck case, no view of the cards. On FB, there is this picture of the Artemis Black deck, I assume it is the same concept.
Its hard to decipher anything else from what I can find, the description below is even more confusing.
"Like the special decks in the Artist Boxset, we used a manuscript to complete the design of this card. And full black, including the edges."

I think the artist deck is pretty cool. It’s neat to see the different stages on each card. Too bad it only comes in the box set.

Are you talking about the Standard Edition? Well, looking closely, I guess it's just solid black background, both on back and faces. Which... compared to the old Standard Edition from other projects, it's different.

Luckily it is not really my genre as there is far too much to read
I sometimes wonder whether Ark shouldn't become simply tuck case designers (for other designers)
Have they ever done a deck like this pic?

Makes sense considering their team includes a product director who knows a lot about print packaging, and a design director for the artwork. Your question, honeybee, makes me wonder why they don't create a deck based on Noah's Ark. The pic itself gave me Theory11 vibes.
Honestly, paper packaging was Alex Chin's expertise. A lot of his cards, including some NPCCD decks, aren't all that impressive, but his tucks were always something unique and special.

Even though I'm somewhat of a tuckist, I do want the cards to speak to me as well. So far, none of the ARK projects have done so. The only thing I really like about this campaign is the coin

Re: Horror Night by ARK Playing Cards
Ahaha funny that you should say that. I remember, in a private group chat with ARK on Facebook, a few users suggest that someday, ARK should do a deck that is based on their LOGO and NAME: either… like a Worker’s deck (highly impossible but it is an idea), or a luxury Christianity theme deck (a bigger scope than Halidom). But its very unlikely, I guess… considering…. They still have to make the last two projects for completing ShanHai and there’s another project involving a Chinese legend, and a collaboration with gothic theme artist for the Chuthulu deck.kevork wrote: ↑Thu Oct 30, 2025 3:24 am Makes sense considering their team includes a product director who knows a lot about print packaging, and a design director for the artwork. I consider any tuck box that isn’t just like your normal box is unique, unless they’re overdone (I am looking at you, CardMafia)

Re: Horror Night by ARK Playing Cards
no the "luxury black" edition that is another $130 or whatever, they have pictures of the tuck, front and back (what looks like a back of card shot has a 00 out of 99 at the bottom so thats the tuck) and the metal plate that comes with it, but nothing of the cards themselves. Which they always seem to do a bad job of showing that edition off, its usually just black and white pictures of the cards...not sure why they do that and Ive never backed at that level before.laitostarr777 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 29, 2025 10:34 pmAre you talking about the Standard Edition? they did respond to a comment saying they would upload the pictures when they were ready.
the standard edition that is also a black background card they have done a good enough job showing.

Re: Horror Night by ARK Playing Cards
Oh, in that case, Luxury Black has the cards edge print with black, have black background, and the illustrations are B/W (or maybe there's metallic silver).

This one I take a few months ago, it's the Luxury Black of ANKH Playing Cards (though it's a proto)

Re: Horror Night by ARK Playing Cards
Just wait for an inevitable ARK sale next year. The basic Halloween deck with be cheap, as long as they don't sell out.
When the Angeldom/Devildom campaign was happening, I couldn't afford to buy both, so I just got the Angeldom basic. I was able to buy the Devildom basic deck for a decent price earlier last year, and that was just a year or so after the campaign.

Re: Horror Night by ARK Playing Cards
I might do something odd with this one and go all-in and sell certain decks outside of their intended displays. I want the metal card (priority) and the golden coin that comes in the wooden box set. I also want the orange deck inside the artist set as I think it is the best representation of the theme. This means I will probably sell off the following decks by themselves (no display cases):
1 - Standard
2 - Special Deck (the one that fades to white)
3 - Gold Gilded (from the wooden box set)
4 - Luxury Black (unless they share some incredible images of the card faces that I can't resist!)
That's the plan for now! If it appeals to you to get one of the versions outside of the bulky display or perhaps the black version away from the plate, let me know! I might just keep it all, but not likely

They’ve just produced this presentation video of Horror Night Playing Cards. Like, HOT DAMN, that cinematography work just for decks of cards. Narrator probably AI voice to save time xD
Unfortunately, Evilgamer… they don’t showcase the Luxury Black, so let’s assume it is gotta look like what kenackers showed (Artemis Luxury Black) and what I showed (Ankh Luxury Black, proto)

It was overall a good video, certainly to get a general idea of what the cards look like...and definitely written and spoken by AI.

Re: Horror Night by ARK Playing Cards
I'm on the fence with this one. Leaning towards passing. I love the tuck, the mystery finish, and the spot cards, but am iffy on the art on the courts and the cardback. And to get the mystery finish deck would require the artist set, which includes a variant I'm even iffier about for $100 total with shipping. That's a lot for 1 deck that I'm not 100% on.

Re: Horror Night by ARK Playing Cards
Here's a write-up I put together of this project, along with some pictures that showcase the different reward levels.
Horror Night Playing Cards by ARK Playing Cards (Kickstarter)
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ca ... rds-by-ark
Playing cards with holographic foil and exquisite illustrations of Western monster culture
Current funding level: already funded
Kickstarter ends: Tuesday, November 25, 2025

For the last few years ARK Playing Cards has been producing stunning luxury playing cards with extravagant tuck cases on a fairly regular basis. They have a growing contingent of faithful fans that greets each new release with excitement. But their last release was over half a year ago back in March, which is unusual for them. So it's welcome news that they've now launched their newest project Horror Night Playing Cards, and it's been well worth the wait.

The deck has several unique features, starting with the tuck case, which draws on an immediately recognizable icon: the Halloween pumpkin or Jack-o'-lantern. Hidden inside is a unique mechanism, and when you pull down the bottom half of the case, the top half moves up, revealing the deck inside. A fun feature is that if the sides of the outer box are squeezed, it remains locked and can't be opened.

In keeping with the overall theme, the box of the deck inside has a design that brings to mind an eerie mansion. Similarly the card backs have a complex design that incorporates a wide range of symbols and images, such as forbidden weapons and artifacts, skulls, runic crosses, and mysterious wheels.

The name of the deck immediately conveys the theme, which focuses on Western monster culture. These playing cards are a tribute to the many monsters that have been popularized by fiction and film, such as werewolves, vampires, demons, and more, starting with the Grim Reaper on the Ace of Spades.

How fitting that the project was launched around Halloween! The court cards famous legends of the horror genre to life. The cast of characters includes the following ancient and modern inhabitants of the horror genre, in no particular order: Werewolf, Vampire, Zombie, Mummy, Witch, Frankenstein, Hollow Man, Murdoc, Medusa, Minotaur, Siren, Harpy.

As with previous ARK projects, the Horror Night Playing Cards project is available with four different levels and styles of luxury packaging, and the main decks are as follows:
● Standard Deck (limited edition of 3333): single deck (US$30)
● Artist Boxset (limited edition of 999): holographic foil deck with orange edges & a special deck & an art book (US$75)
● Wooden Boxset (limited edition of 333): gold foil deck with gilded edges, plus a collectible coin (US$185)
● Luxury Black (limited edition of 99): black and white deck, plus an embossed metal plate (~US$150, only available as part of the "All-In" reward)

Here's a preview of how each of the above four packaging and deck options look.
1. Standard Deck
Let's start by checking out the unique tuck case.

Now for the deck itself, showing the Aces and court cards.

Scarecrows with grinning Jack-o'-lantern heads serve as the Jokers.

2. Artist Box set
The box
The Artist box set comes in a beautifully presented and striking box, with two decks inside.

The holographic foil deck
This deck features holographic foil with orange edges. By now those of us familiar with ARK have seen holographic foil playing cards before - although I never get tired of seeing them firsthand. But what makes these ones unique - besides the holographic orange colour - is the fine spiderweb style texture that becomes evident when the cards have light reflect on them.

The special deck
This deck is partly in monochrome and partly in colour, reflecting something of the evolution of this project.

The art book
And here's a glimpse from within the pages of the art book included.

3. Wooden Box set
The box
The box can be configured for display in several different ways.

The gold foil deck
The tuck case has a similar look and design to the Standard deck, but with more gold and more bling.

The cards look stunning, with gold foil and gilded edges.

The coin
There's also a special collector's coin that comes with this set, and showcasing the join is part of the third display configuration for the wooden box.

4. Luxury Black set
The luxury black deck
This deck features white artwork against a jet black background, and cards with black edges.

The embossed metal plate
An individually numbered embossed metal plate is another special feature of this reward.

Add ons
Extra add-ons like uncut sheets, collector coins, and other decks are also available.

This project is another fine example of the creativity and quality we've come to expect from ARK Playing Cards. Welcome back!

Re: Horror Night by ARK Playing Cards
I actually changed my mind about this deck. The bars on the courts aren't doing it for me. I actually liked the initial sketches with the white background better. I cancelled my pledge and went for this one instead - late pledges are still open:

Re: Horror Night by ARK Playing Cards
This was just dropped on Nov 5 at 11:00 a.m. (ET) - $365 | 1 of 5 are made
...and they are all GONE
It is a deconstructed deck, framed into one composition.
It is crazy some would willing to spend another lot sum of money after going for the All-In or Collection bundle
PS: I think this will be a fixed add-on for future projects

Re: Horror Night by ARK Playing Cards
At that point you're just better off deconstructing one yourself. They're really milking their fans.
