If Lorenzo ends up creating a small cabinet that people can assemble, meant to house the Odd Fellows series upon its completion, I'll feel more excited about having these flasks.
The flask doesn't bother me but I like to pick up multiples of decks. Disappointed the only way to do this is to buy the flasks. I wish I could buy a flask of each and then additional decks without flask.

I dont think I had glommed onto the flasks being required, went and found the link on the patron version of the email...yes this campaign is expensive...wonder how that will play out.

I am not immune to gimmicks but this seems to be a case of the gimmick outweighing the deck
I have 2 concerns
1 shipping having just gotten a damaged deck from likely the inside of the tuck (replaced), how much the cards rattling around inside the flask is going to just destroy the gilding and dent cards.
Storage...those cards are going to have to come out and go into a plastic sleeve to be stored, and then I just have 2 metal flasks sitting around.
I'll back it yes...but I assumed that the flasks were an option when this was being discussed on patreon.
Im sure the flasks will have cushions to keep the cards safe inside, I hope - either the foam is there temporarily for safe shipping or part of the storage. And multi layers of wrapping needed to secure the flasks safely
My storage system is unfortunately primarily based around standard poker-sized decks, so anything bigger becomes inconvenient. I do love the Odd Fellows series though, so we shall see :/
Same, I thought the flasks would be optional, and I also use brick boxes at home which can't fit the flasks. Now I'm wondering if I should even back this at high prices to get the decks and store them without the flasks. I hope Lorenzo considers some display decks or something. Kinda sad now about this ks
Looking to buy (DM me if selling please!):
-Limbo v1 decks: Escape, Ennui, Cage
-2018 NPCCD: Green Pawn & Missing Island Prototypes

I hadn't looked at the preview page on desktop yet...$104 (early bird) for two decks that would have cost perhaps a third of that if it weren't for the flasks. Yikes. This puts me in a bind as it's one of my favorite series of his and I have every other deck. I don't want to miss this.

Damn, $104 for two decks and a flask. Im not all that interested in the flask so I might be out in this one maybe.
I’d say: the latest members of the Odd Fellows are the most thematic one there is!
Decks hidden inside flasks. I’d be surprised if, when these arrived in my country, my customs would suspect im importing spirits over the allowed amount xD
The prices are high, and I was just as surprised by the price.
But remember that it's free worldwide shipping for the 2 decks in the flasks. That should be around $15-25 for most people? Making it around $75-85 for 2 decks.
Perhaps that helps people in different regions slightly but the flasks result in you paying more overall.
The way I look at it is: I could've had two decks in tucks for approximately $30-40. Sure maybe tack on a negligible shipping amount, considering shipping in the US will be from GW. But now I need to pay $104 for two decks in flasks with "free shipping." Where do you think the shipping costs are allocated from? The shipping is baked into the cost.
As an example, I'll sell you a $40 deck but instead of charging you $15 shipping, I'm just going to sell you the deck for $55, but hey I'll offer you free shipping.
That argument, which Lorenzo is using himself, isn't a selling point to me.
Lorenzo put a lot of time and effort into creating these flasks, I understand that. I also understand that should he have offered a tuck version, flask sales would be significantly less to the point where it would likely be a financial loss for him. It just sucks that the entry point to this campaign is $104 (I'll stress that this is early bird pricing). Further telling me that the flasks will be upgraded to be placed into a wooden box is not a convincing argument. You created a metal flask for display and then are now going to hide it within a wooden box?
Yes I agree, I would have been happy to go with the std tucks. I never went in for any of the fancy high-priced collector sets, just the basic tucks.
It's probably the most 'odd' S17 KS campaign with such high price, non-standard tucks and only 17 days.
I suppose this will be the real test of S17's brand. Will collectors still back at such a high price for cards in a metal flask or will the price turn people off?

Let's see how it goes.
It's funded already, so I guess we have our answer.
Same here, really like this, would have liked the decks, but not at these prices. It's a shame he's decided to make these decks too financially unobtainable for most.

Ditto. I get the pricing with the flasks, but I was expecting tiers with just the decks. I'll have to pass, unless they add deck only options.
