Some uncut sheet bundles will also be available tomorrow:

theory11 wrote: 14 years ago today, we printed what we thought was going to be our Monarch Playing Cards. This first printing featured gold ink on a navy background, but being the perfectionists that we are, we weren't 100% happy with how they turned out, so we scrapped the entire run. Only 111 of these were made available in 2011 prior to the official release.

These uncut sheets were never known to have existed, lost in our archives and untouched for 14 years. On 8/31, our entire supply of these uncut sheets are up for grabs, and once they are gone, they are gone forever.

We made 111 bundles. Each bundle contains three uncut sheets. One of those sheets is guaranteed to be either one of these four possible options: Pre-Release Monarch, Gold Monarch, Monarch Mandarin, or first edition JAQK Cellars.

In addition to being guaranteed one of those four sheets above, you also have the chance to receive uncuts of Monarchs, White Artisans, Contraband, Love Me, Derren Brown, Tycoon Blue or Red, & more, most of which have never been available for sale.

Only 111 bundles will be available. Limit 1 bundle per customer. Once they are gone, these sheets are gone forever. Available on 8/31 at 11:11am ET

Sadly I’m nowhere close to elite status with theory11.

Could be a cool special edition. Seems like they should have gilded the edges to match the backs but I’m sure the cards will still look great.

Looks great, that line work is crisp. Is that gold foil on the faces as well?

Thank you manu for posting. I didn't get the email for early drop. Monarchs are the one Theory11 deck I am always in for. I picked up a few.

Mine arrived yesterday. The tuck case is moderately glossy with a prismatic foil. The tuck also has light embossing all around which is fairly subtle. Visible when the light catches at the right angles and obvious to the touch. For the cards themselves, to me they feel close to standard Bicycle thickness when doing a spring. I don't think they are crushed, I have some crushed decks that are definitely thinner. They faro pretty easily and fan nicely out of the box. They have that 'chemical' odor common of foiled decks.

If I had to guess, I think they may be WJPC because they seem rather similar to other decks I have from them and dissimilar to decks I have from say Legends. But I know there is varying production tech at suppliers, so it's just a guess.

Overall, it's a nice deck consistent with other Monarchs. I can't speak to the lifespan as yet, but out of the box, I don't have any complaints other than the odor is a bit off-putting - but not as bad as some.
