So what's the deal with the moving sale? Why are they moving?

I think people have asked but I have not read any answer.
Are they moving to another town?
Do they need bigger?
Are they saving by going smaller?

Didn't say, but I would guess probably to a smaller place since they'll be passing on fulfillment to another company that's in the same city.

That's interesting and sucks for his team as they'll mostly be getting let go then.

Which to be fair was a miracle in and of itself (not to minimize all the hard work put in by Jackson and his team to achieve such success). Don't know anyone else in the community who could sustain an entire team in the playing card world and maintain profitability for this long.

Thanks for the kind words.

We are definitely downsizing. I have developed a good relationship with the owner of a fulfillment company here in Cleveland, which is taking over all our fulfillment and warehousing needs. The overhead for our space was just getting too much for us to maintain it for the long haul. We are relocating all of our production equipment (screen printing, box making, seal printing), as well as all the handwork, into a smaller, more manageable space.

The card world has definitely slowed tremendously since COVID, although 2020 (COVID year) was the best year for cards. We are also just growing up as a company after almost 12 years and just really trying to manage and run things more efficiently.

Two Clevelands in the USA is confusing. Other than always tagging on the state name, I think Cleveland City and Cleveland Town have nice rings to them (even if making them sound like English Soccer teams ;) )

We like confusing.

Theres more than one Miami
More than one Charlestown
even some that mean more to some of us than others like Greensboro, of which there are 7.

we even have an Ontario, California just to confuse people who think we're talking about Canada.

Like Portland, Maine isn't confusing enough? Then there's also Paris, Texas; Dublin, Ohio; Oxford, Mississippi and of course Athens, Georgia.

I had this weird idea that he could get his collectors to work for free or be paid in decks

Jackson has made some bold decisions over the years. This move by JR and his team sounds, at least to me here on the outside, like an extremely shrewd move. Lean the company down, reduce overhead, and stay nimble. Smaller producers like Thirdway and Stockholm17 and Oath are already pretty much as lean as you can get, so maybe we'll get lucky with regard to them. But everyone is in for a wild ride coming up. I expect that the economy is going to take a huge beating, world-wide. Whoever survives the next few years is going to be at the forefront of a new boom, but between now and then....

If you have been reading Jackson's Discord of late, you will see that he is quite enamored with AI as a tool

Enamored? Nah just interested. It could crap out tomorrow and I would still know how to draw. I'm just simply making my views clear so everyone knows where I stand cuz as an artist unclarity of ones use or non use of ai is a very dangerous spot to be in.

IMO

I love watching all the UC oops come back here and give their own interpreted report on the "goings on" of my discord.

Yeah interested rather than enamored would have been a better choice of word (sometimes I like to pretend I am an English teacher  )
