Re: eBay auctions posted by people on crack
Unreleased feels very disingenuous as this deck is simply yet to get in people's hands. Unreleased would imply an item that was never officially released.

Re: eBay auctions posted by people on crack
Shipping from China. Did someone from WJPC slip one in their pocket off the print line? They're also selling other "unreleased" stuff without cello or seal which leads me to believe these are stolen possibly? Unless fulfilment already began and someone they actually got a prototype from Lorenzo.
Looking to buy (DM me if selling please!):
-Limbo v1 decks: Escape, Ennui, Cage
-2018 NPCCD: Green Pawn & Missing Island Prototypes
This comment is mod-approved if you're able to see it.

prerelease is the honest term, but honesty is short in supply

According to S17 latest post, it seems like it is a leak from wjpc somehow.bdawg923 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 01, 2025 11:00 am Shipping from China. Re: eBay auctions posted by people on crack
Looks like Lorenzo is on the case. I've bought from that eBay user before, but it seems he bought from another individual on the Chinese market, XianYu. It seems this is moving closer and closer to WJPC...

Re: eBay auctions posted by people on crack
I think Ive also bought decks from the seller and it was a good experience. After reading Lorenzo's post I dont think it is okay to report the seller , sure its not exactly unreleased but the seller doesnt seem like the culprit. I am going to ask TGW on Discord about the giveaways.

Re: eBay auctions posted by people on crack
The action to be taken in discussion seems to be about finding out how it is being sold on Xianyu. Where did that seller acquire it from. Is it a lab leak? Is it counterfeit?.....zlexander wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 1:09 pm I think Ive also bought decks from the seller and it was a good experience. Re: eBay auctions posted by people on crack
It's easy to rule out counterfeit.
It's either WJPC's standard practice to sell decks they print for others, in which case it can be argued they are stealing unrealized profits, or some employee has gone rogue and doing this without the company's knowledge.

This reminds me when Kingstar decks were being sold on WoundedCorner , turned out some employee in Kingstar was selling it without permission . They got caught and fired .

Re: eBay auctions posted by people on crack
Lorenzo said not counterfeit , I am on Kevork with this one either WJPC is to be blame or an employee is doing something shady . Getting a response from WJPC will be able to clear some confusion I believeJazzBaloo wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 1:22 pmThe action to be taken in discussion seems to be about finding out how it is being sold on Xianyu. Here's another image of various decks from the rogue seller on XianYu:
Looks like TGW, High Noon, S17, Wondercraft, Oxalis, Black Ink, and the Card Inn are all affected

Re: eBay auctions posted by people on crack
Something not talked about is if the Ebay seller is buying up these decks and putting big price tags to flip them, they are well aware of how the game is played. Has the Ebay seller shown proof that they have purchased them from the Xianyu seller? Why is the Ebay seller who is in China buying them from the Xianyu seller in China to then flip them in the western market? $$$

Re: eBay auctions posted by people on crack
Hello everyone, I’m a Chinese card collector, and I can shed light on what happened: There was a Xianyu seller whose store specialized in tarot cards. One day, she suddenly posted images under listings or shops selling playing cards on Xianyu, showcasing decks like The Gentleman Wake, Stockholm17, Thirdway Industries, Black Ink, and various WJPCC-produced decks, claiming to 'exchange insights.' The community was shocked—these were all WJPCC-produced decks, some still crowdfunded but not yet shipped. Initially, people assumed she was just sharing promotional materials from WJPCC to learn about card culture (since she wasn’t part of the playing card community). However, after interacting with her, some buyers discovered she was actually selling these decks (like the eBay buyer mentioned). It wasn’t until you revealed the eBay buyer sourced from Xianyu that I realized her true intent. Later, a friend shared chat records with this seller, revealing she even had multiple copies of certain decks for sale—like the red House of the Rising Spade. The rest is now widely known. I suspect this involves WJPCC employees secretly selling warehouse stock, though whether the factory tacitly approved this, or if similar incidents occurred before, remains unclear. This behavior is utterly unethical—it severely undermines the interests of collectors who purchase through legitimate channels and represents a dishonest disrespect toward designers’ work.

Is her gender assumed because of information she has provided or has that been confirmed somehow?tantairuoxi wrote: ↑Mon Mar 03, 2025 8:26 pm Hello everyone, I’m a Chinese card collector, and I can shed light on what happened: There was a Xianyu seller whose store specialized in tarot cards. Re: eBay auctions posted by people on crack
This inference is based solely on factors such as reviews from her past buyers, the gender displayed on her account, her identity as a tarot card collector, and other related considerations.JazzBaloo wrote: ↑Mon Mar 03, 2025 9:36 pmIs her gender assumed because of information she has provided or has that been confirmed somehow?tantairuoxi wrote: ↑Mon Mar 03, 2025 8:26 pm Hello everyone, I’m a Chinese card collector, and I can shed light on what happened: There was a Xianyu seller whose store specialized in tarot cards. Re: eBay auctions posted by people on crack
This is culpable too. Flipping decks is common, flipping unreleased/prereleased/stolen/etc. decks however clearly shows you're trying to pull something.JazzBaloo wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 3:16 pm Something not talked about is if the Ebay seller is buying up these decks and putting big price tags to flip them, they are well aware of how the game is played. Re: eBay auctions posted by people on crack
Yes this is the point. Seller knows what he is doing and it's confusing to me that it is not a bigger issue. If someone is willing to do that then I thought what else would they do... pretend to have bought from someone else if they get caught comes to mind but atm that is unsubstantiated.

Unreleased S17 Decks Pop Up on eBay – WJPC Under Investigation
There are more updates on the S17 Patreon page—you can join for free to check them out:ORIGINAL POST
Hi,
Today, a valued follower pointed out a listing from China where someone is selling three of the Patreon 2024 decks for $200-$300 USD.
All the decks are stored in a warehouse in Texas, except for a few samples I have here in Stockholm, one in Singapore, and one in California—these were used for photoshoots (Richard A. & Chris M.).
Now I’m wondering how these decks ended up on eBay.
I’ve messaged the seller to ask where they sourced them. Still waiting for a reply.
If they’re from WJPC, that’s not okay. I’m looking into it.
Important Clue:
The Anthology LTD700 deck in the listing isn’t sealed, and the back features the misprinted design. It also lacks the signed seal. WJPC is the only place this “prototype” could’ve come from—but it’s not a prototype, just an unsealed deck missing the signature sticker.
With this post, I want to reassure you that your decks are safe in the warehouse awaiting fulfillment. I haven’t sold or given away any Patreon decks under the table.
Lorenzo

It looks like WJPC might be illegally selling overprinted decks and prototypes.

So in the end, there is no penalty for WJPC and no compensation for those creators?

Well I guess creators will stop using them now if they are smart.
