I think its looking very solid - but the Shuffled Ink (for the printer picky) and 500 limit are likely to throw some, and perhaps attract others (depending on their side of the arbitrary limit debate)

I for one scratch my head to think of what Shuffled Ink decks I have - surely have some - and I will be in on it regardless of the printer or the limits (or the lack thereof) - as I love a good cohesive art deck.

The limit is simply just based on this being my first kickstarter and deck ever, and I didn't think people would be interested enough to go over that 500.

I do have 3 other decks in this series as stretch goals though. All different editions.

Slight bummer about the embossing but I’ll still probably be in. I was hoping for a lower price on the uncut sheet but we will see at launch.

I think the first three kings wild shorts deck were printed with shuffled ink. Equinox (fall), haunted 8s and old ironsides. I'm sure there are others but these are the first popular ones that come to mind

I am, personally.
I have about 10 years of experience when it comes to self-owned businesses and shipping. I used to make resin polyhedral dice from scratch, and would ship 100's across the world. My wife used to make artisan nerdy soaps and we also did big numbers with that.

We are Canadian, but we have a US mailing address that we use for shipping, making our costs cheaper than using Canadian methods.

We are a small team, but we are dedicated to make sure every single order is handled with the same love and care.

My next few decks in development are two-way mirrored.

Making the Jacks 2 different characters as Prince and Princess has nothing to do with inclusivity and everything to do with the story I want to tell through the deck. In the future I will release more traditional looking decks with mirrored faces and such. I appreciate the feedback however.

I'll stray from the chorus as I like the way the jacks are different. As an aside, I have the person you responded to blocked, and occasionally will see him quoted and am reminded why.

The creator literally asked for feedback. Are you saying that offering suggestions for improvement when asked makes one a "Karen" (whatever that is supposed to mean)? How bizarre.

i actually really like the full one way court. i like that the art can be more detailed and gives a chance to expand on the body of the character. usually, if a campaign offers a deck with traditional mirrored courts or the full, one way court, i choose the later.

An artist should always follow their vision. A businessman should always listen to their customers.

When you are a combo of the two - well, thats a tougher route to figure than either alone.

I would not say that not going for the single two way court would be an applicable use of the term Karen, and it has me on the fence about going in on them - its a thing, that effects sales, for better or for worse, and is indeed, the artists vision.


Artists often sacrifice (or at least are willing to sacrifice) mass appeal for something really appealing to a smaller group. I appreciate those decks the most - be they for me or not.

But as a businessman I know that for every 1 customer complaint you hear there are 5000 you don’t - and that the customer is always right (ok, grain of salt on that one )

A huge chunk of your market doesn't like your newest design? As long as it wasnt something that made them hate you, then it just wasn't made for them and you can make a design that is next time.

I want to tell a story of 4 lost kingdoms in the afterlife. And that's what my design decisions are based off.

If 'unique', 'collectable', 'limited', 'art focused', and 'odd', are words that describe things you like, then you'll like SPIRITS.
