I did see that post with the pictures but the pics weren't labeled so I didn't know which deck each pic was associated with (except for the ones with card backs in them).

Can you show faces for the blue or red deck?

Is the black deck just black on the backs and have white faces or are the faces on black stock?

Well, it was the guy I sold the second one to that assured me that I had a third - so as of yet unverified…

I haven’t actually transferred ownership of the second yet - for some reason having a tough time finding a doc willing to do the job…

As I feared... buy everything to be able to get just the 2 decks I want... Unfortunately for me I don't have +$400 to spare in things I don't really want...

If by a long shoot, any of you pledging for a sarcophagus tier aren't interested in the The Successor Dynastinae Prism edition let me know, I'll be more than happy to help you pay for that tier (this way you may still be able to keep one kidney)...

The only tier exclusive deck is the prism. All the others can be added on to a minimum pledge ($19)

@TheGentlemanWake Can you please add a tier just for the decks, without the sarcophagus?
As I said I'm really interested in getting the purple deck but since that is just available with the useless (for me) sarcophagus I'm not willing to waste my money in something I have no use for or care at all. But if you add a tier just for the decks, although only the purple and the white interest me, I don't mind getting the others as part of the trade, but the sarcophagus I can't justify spending a cent on it.

Better yet, if you think that the sarcophagus is such a great thing, just make it and add-on, and only people pledging for more that a certain amount can get it.
For me that sarcophagus is like a vanity thing that you want to force on your backers, because you think that it is a truly special thing. Let the backers choose if they want it or not.. This maneuver may work for you this time, but in the long run it will just loose you supporters.

Take a look at LOTR project from KWP, all the decks (except the KS exclusives) can be pledged individually, and if you check you'll see that special boxes aren't really the hot thing in playing cards, a total of 5.600+ backers and only about 500-600 legacies are pledge for.. Just letting people getting what they want, they way it should be.

The good thing about the tempest campaign was even though the prism edition was available behind certain tiers, the tiers still had all playing cards. Tbh I'm also not a fan of the sarcophagus. I collect playing cards, not fancy expensive boxes. So I bit the bullet and got a brick of tempest decks just to have access to the prism edition. But in this case, the sarcophagus makes up a huge cost in the tiers it's in. And I'm also not into paying a lot of money for something I don't care about just to get a prism deck. I think Omar made his decision though and I respect it. It's his campaign and he can run it however he likes, and it will probably still make a ton of money.

I have made my decisions. For better or worse I’m sticking to them. I’ve discussed my reasons in this thread several times. To be honest the sarcophagus has the worst margin of any of the products on offer—so if my goal was to make money I would have made people buy a brick to get the prism. But I didn’t. The vision of the successor is a 6 deck collection inside a collectors box. I’m sorry if you are not interested in the box.

In fact, if you want to look at the sarcophagus as FREE and The price of the tier being the prism deck that may help. Considering tempest prism decks are going for the price of the top tier.

Omar, just a quick question for you. Has a price been decided on for the Dynastinae add on? I am curious how much this is going to run. Also, is there any chance of having a dynastinae tier on its own? The green and gold is my favorite version and depending on what I decide on if I just want that one I would love to be able to buy it without a second deck.

Dynastinae is tentatively set for $65. Monarch white is $75. You can add them to a minimum tier ($19) but there won’t be a tier of its own.

So if I pledge for a $19 tier (standard red/blue edition), I can simply add $65 to get a Dynastinae deck? Can I do this multiple times and add an additional $65 for each Dynastinae deck that I want? Never used Kickstarter so forgive me if I got this reward system all wrong.

I really wanted that Dynastinae edition but $65 is pushing it. Why is it so expensive?

That's not a rhetorical question, please sell me on it! LOL

bc artificial demand is good for the brand. less supply = more demand = higher price

o and I forget to add that collectors love items that are rare because the resale value of these items is very high

TheGentlemanWake wrote: Tue Nov 09, 2021 10:22 am Sorry I wasn’t clear. What I meant is that the Heir to the throne tier will include all extras AT NO COST. In fact the decks will be somewhat discounted. The price will be in the $400-500 range. Because, believe it or not, a metal cast piano lacquer box is expensive to produce and ship. So the price is reflective of that and the three “special” editions.
so a tier w/o the coffin would inherently be less expensive. the sarcophagus is not free. you said yourself it's costly to produce and ship. people who want the decks are forced to spend money on accessories they do not need, just bc it is your vision for the tier. i agree with the person a few post abive who said make the box an addon. if you think people want and like it, they will add it on. i think the problem is you know a more people dont want or need the box than do want it. out of all the slots in the tier, more people would be pledging for the prism deck than the box. and if you made it an addon, it would not sell and you'd be losing all the money you invested in getting it made. maybe im way off here though but this is what it reads like to me

Do we really need to keep bringing this up? Half the posts in this topic are people complaining and TGW explaining his reasoning. It’s pretty clear what his position is and that he’s not changing his mind. You’re not saying anything that hasn’t already been said and been responded to multiple times.

At the end of the day, it is Omar's campaign and he is free to organise it as he wishes. Obviously, he would love to please everyone, including himself, but that is never possible. The only difference compared to most campaigns is that he is openly discussing it here which gives people the opportunity to complain about things they don't like.

The Dynastinae are limited to 777 (400 of which are already tied to sarcophagus sets). That means that only 377 are available to add on. This makes de facto more rare than any previous Dynastinae. The production of the deck with black holofoil on the tuck, cold foil and gold gilding is also high in cost. The Parlour Dynastinae which did not have a unique back design (design fees factor in as well-KCS is fantastic and not cheap) cost $45 in 2017.

You’ve got some pretty ambitious stretch goals, I really hope you reach all of them! Are those all set in stone yet? I really like your custom brick boxes, but it looks like right now we’d have to get almost 350,000 in funding to unlock it. Not doubting it could get there, but if you don’t it wouldn’t feel like a TGW campaign to me without an awesome brick box. I’ll be getting a mixed brick either way, but I would definitely prefer it with a custom brick box.
