Army of Darkness x Fontaine

Unread post by Entaro »

Am I the only one who think these look lazy? Like it seemed like a silly idea to me in the first place, but thought because I love the movie I'd probably still get the deck until I saw it... It looks like they just slapped pictures on a normal deck and called it a day

It's actually more work than what normally goes into a std Fontaine where it's usually just spin the wheel of color and come up with cool name if the color's been done before.

Was interested at first when I saw it was Army of Darkness as I also loved that movie, but then I saw how he did the Halloween deck. Just movie stills pasted on the faces. Army of Darkness has a bit more work done : different color, border on the pics, names of the characters. :D

But yeah, about what you would expect from a cheap movie licensed deck for $5. Even then, you will get a different pic on every card. This will probably be just the courts and Aces.

did you expect more from fontaines? they are all lazy AF. when they do actually put in slightly more effort than their standard color change, like the fever dreams series, they look even worse. they go from plain and lazy to absolutely horrendous. they found a group of suckers that their formula works on though. I cannot think of a single collab that they could do that i would ever buy.

wow this might be a new low. Pathetic and bad for the category. I still do not own a Fontaine and now if I was given one I'd probably give it back.

Well, to compare it with Halloween, at least for this one, it has JUST A BIT modifications: red background color, oval thorny frames
The rest, it's just same with Halloween, just slap snaps from the movie. This one, it's a portrait of characters from the movie.

I would get it, just wanna see how it turns out in the end. And believe it or not, I got watch the Evil Dead film series just to catch up with this haha

So did you enjoy the series? which one did you enjoy the most? Haven't bothered with the remake.

Oh definitely. I like it on how there are a few comedy apply to it. It's amazing how long time ago, the special effects are very practical

Look at the new teaser: the tuckbox. They are not ready to show the back design after the disappointing faces design XD

The box is cool, it shaped like a book and it opens like a book. I wonder who made the tuckbox though
Any thoughts?

In Army of Darkness, Ash is tasked to find the Necronomicon. To his surprise, there are three books - one is the real one, the other two are traps

The 2nd fake one Ash picked. It bites him - basically this is the reference for the tuckbox.

This is the real book

Bruh…. The brick box design can at least be different than the tuckbox. “Favourite Halloween movie” he said….. in your dreams. If he liked the movie, at least put an effort to it. But again, this is cardistry, this level of design is considered a pass
