Out of curiosity anyone else wonder if this design was inspired by erector sets and robotic arm kits that got away from them?
At some point I think they lost the imagination they were trying to channel and this popped out instead. (just a feeling I have)
Usually, for me, it means questionable choices. You could translate it that way though, sure. I don't think you'd be wrong in that translation either.

Now I love me some sexy 3d renders, but, aside from liking the idea, I just wonder, why?
