The whole campaign is more magic than playing cards than you might think.

Just to note - this is the Bicycle Model # 2 back. It's a vintage reprint, not a new design. I for one am a sucker for vintage reprints. The Jokers are vintage, but pulled from an old Bicycle ad, never actually used in a deck before. Lee Asher was heavily involved in the development of this deck.vasta41 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 12:50 pm It took 4 guys to come up with THIS design?? Don't get me wrong, those are all well-respected people but give me a break. It's essentially a tangent back in a circa 90's tuck with a redesigned AoS.
I've always loved CARC but this is silly. It's nice they're making a club deck but it should be better than this IMO.

Thank you for the corrections. I don't have a problem with vintage reprints nor slightly modified courts, backs, etc. unlike most UC members. I just don't know why it took 4 people to design this.Reylek wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 1:44 pmJust to note - this is the Bicycle Model # 2 back. It's a vintage reprint, not a new design. Also, this is from Conjurer Community, not Conjuring Arts Research Center. Different companies, different people involved.
I'm sure a big part of why it looks pretty normal & standard is because it's designed to be used by magicians and not arouse suspicion.

It doesn't took four people. It's just that four people (only one of them a designer) agreed on choosing to make this their club deck. An exceptional deck for antique/vintage lovers one might be inclined to add.

So I wonder, is it a gimmicked deck (i.e. stripper deck) or the magic is only based on card order and extra cards (double backer, blank...) and the fact it has a one way design?Magic_Orthodoxy wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 9:07 am Yes, a 1907 reprint, but the novelty of this and the "work" by the designers was in a deck that can do magic tricks - one of 4 different tricks right as you open the deck
Plus you become a member of the "community" which gives you access to live events and video tutorials.

I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed. If you're backing this campaign for the magic then you're in good hands- those guys know their stuff.masagin303 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 12:00 pmSo I wonder, is it a gimmicked deck (i.e. stripper deck) or the magic is only based on card order and extra cards (double backer, blank...) and the fact it has a one way design?Magic_Orthodoxy wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 9:07 am Yes, a 1907 reprint, but the novelty of this and the "work" by the designers was in a deck that can do magic tricks - one of 4 different tricks right as you open the deck

For $16 shipped when pledging EB half brick or $19 shipped when buying a pair I need some convincing that a brick of Supreme Line Bicycles for $6 shipped each isn't a better deal.

I'm not going to convince anyone since, I'll definitely pass on that campaign but I guess the campaign seems misleading for a lot of folks as it focuses a lot on the deck design.masagin303 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 3:40 pmFor $16 shipped when pledging EB half brick or $19 shipped when buying a pair I need some convincing that a brick of Supreme Line Bicycles for $6 shipped each isn't a better deal.![]()

And even closer look indicates that they are already printed and ready to be shipped. This campaign is really weird.Magic_Orthodoxy wrote: ↑Sun Aug 23, 2020 8:58 am oh wow - a closer read indicates that it's going to be printed on the web press at USPCC
