Finally a deck that did the fan renders right! For X sake... even a bunch of cardistry decks render fan in the most unrealistic way... I appreciate you for this. The other aspects? I'd say this is better than the average magician's deck. (Does have reminiscence of Mint though but not a bad way; the markings are cool)

I can't say I agree, I've never made a fan that looks like that. That's not to say it's a bad render per se, and I've seen far worse, but I don't see what's realistic about it?Decknowledgy wrote:Finally a deck that did the fan renders right! Not my kind of deck, but I like the pattern

I'll provide an example here (now on KS), advertised as cardistry deck. How the heck can anyone realistically produce this thumb fan? There's no pivot point whatsoever!!MagikFingerz wrote:I can't say I agree, I've never made a fan that looks like that. And believe me, most cardistry deck renders pivot the deck out of thin air... At least this deck here pivots the fan right on the corner.

This is curious. I don't know how you make fans, but I've never seen a fan with the pivot point on the corner.Decknowledgy wrote:At least this deck here pivots the fan right on the corner.
Here's a picture of a thumb fan (by yours truly), the pivot point is much closer to the middle of the short side than the absolute corner. So it's actually more in line with the renders you posted. Also, I'm pretty sure moving your thumb throughout the movement is common practice, thus the pivot point becomes less static.

Exactly my thoughts. To achieve a fan like shown in the campaign you would have to extremely pinch the lower corner of the deck which makes the fan weird and pretty fragile.

I guess we're talking about the same thing then... notice the black hole in the middle of the Omen renders? That's also impossible to achieve like how you've talked about the pivot point right "on" the corner. The black dot/hole in the middle of those common renders shouldn't be there because no matter which are we talking about, the corner or the middle of the lower edge, our thumbs will always hold a bit away from the absolute border/corner, which is what both renders are doing here.MagikFingerz wrote:This is curious. I see what you mean, but the black hole is pretty small, and those renders are still closer to the real thing than the corner-pivot IMO.Decknowledgy wrote:I guess we're talking about the same thing then... notice the black hole in the middle of the Omen renders? But I think we can both agree that bad renders have plagued this industry for far too long. I've often wondered if there's a better way of making them, like superimposing the back design onto a picture of a fan or something. Though I guess you'd need a full bleed single color deck for that.

I like them but they seem too much like the Mints. Will check out the launch though.

We used completly different marking system. Our system is the simplest. Maybe our marked deck remind you a Mint, because the systems are based on some "abstract symbols"

back is very similar to the mints for sure, but I like the marking system. Very nice and definitely easier to read than the mints. But the courts are also different. Nice and well, fits the theme of the art of the con. Hah

Just asking, would you consider metallic inks for a stretch goal?

Just cancelled my early bird pledge if someone interested is quick enough.
Just so you know, they announced a switch of printers from USPCC to NPCC due to the delays related to COVID-19.

Call me a tin foil hat but seeing that the creator is from the Ukraine, just like NPCC, I suspect the good Ol'switcheroo was planned from the get-go...
