Looks like another recolor of the Black Roses deck.
Two decks; one is the standard (€13,00), the other has slightly updated features and a more mimimalist tuck (€52,00).

Truly appalling when DS and DM come together bragging their ass off with this design. The back design basically spells out:

DS +DM = Rose + Charlie's Feather

Literally means that they took both of their logos and slapped it together and called it a day. Nothing is artistically combined about this.

Exactly my first thought . Negative x negative = positive truely only works in mathematics. The price tag on the private reserve is great; 52 dollars get you 52(+) pieces of bikes without the riderback but two logos...
Always nice to have good procuct pictures on your site as well...

Whenever I see a new Daniel Schneider deck the first question that pops up in my head is what the hell happened after Innocence? Did he realise he can make the same or even better money with less effort and decided to go that route instead of developing as a card designer

The answer is in (edit) his admiration and now collaboration with DM. He of the multiple recolours of the same designs. Besides the confessions which is done by Oban Jones, is there any original design from DM which isn't a modification of his logo in 1 shape or form, besides the Kittens? Look, when he can get away with charging $10 for a deck of blanks, why not learn from the master.

You're confussion Daniel Madison with Daniel Schneider in my post. Daniel Schneider did the Innocence deck (picture below) which had a had a promising back design and was more than just a logo of a rose (which he started to do way before this collab with Daniel Madison). But that's his only decent deck. This is why I always wonder what happend after that with his artistc ambitions.
I don't expect anything from Daniel Madison regarding design. I know that all of his decks aren't his work. Even the lackluster ones (I still love Pink Rounders - cash me ouside how'bout that!? ). Kittens for example was a completely finished design from Ellusionist, already in the drawer, that Daniel Madison saw and slapped his name on for the lulz.

EDIT: Found the explanation you're half-way correct, Eric. He stated in an old post that one of the first two person he followed was Daniel Madison. So the answer is not in the collaboration now, but in the admiration starting a long time ago...



EDIT: Talking about for the lulz. Roaming around Daniel Schneider's various instagram account I found this post with an interesting caption:

Let‘s talk a bit about variety in different deck editions.
These are the Jack of Spades in the original Black Roses series.
These cards aren‘t even the best example because you see 2 cards with standard faces. However, it was a conscious decision to keep them standard.
The last card is from the Black Roses V1 Cartamundi reprint. I updated the court to make it look more like a standard court card.
The bottom left card is from the Red Roses Playing Cards. I didn‘t use any existing templates. All courts in this deck are completely new drawn.
In my very first 2 decks I used different templates. After that I switched to templates which look way cleaner.
I’ve also played around with the right size of a court card in some of my latest decks to make them look more elegant with the same border size on every side.
As you can see I put weeks and months of work into the faces of my cards.
Something that other designers don‘t change at all.
When you buy the next deck of cards don‘t fool yourself with the next hype deck. Take a closer look at the design and ask yourself if a half-hearted fast designed deck is really worth your money.
