Seriously? Who prints premium boxes at USPCC? Ask Gamblers Warehouse and print boxes there. If you print decks without boxes, you will also save ~30-50 cents per deck. Then you'll save another 30-50% if you outsource boxes.

THAT is some good info right there, thanks! If this project doesn't fund this time around, I'll look into that option!

Do it now! As I can see, you can also save by using the same foil/embossing pattern so that you will pay once for molds. Print at GW and unlock all decks. Profit.

$8 per decks is so crazy!

Bring the price per deck down and unlock the blue deck, and I'd be way more likely to pledge. (for whatever that's worth. :) )

Ben,

I have always seen you doing your research as well as project execution very diligently. How can you miss this?

Please check with GW now so that you can lower the bar on the stretch goal for the blue deck.

I love it when the community comes up with constructive suggestions to really help a project, and I love it even more when the project creator engages in those discussions. This topic for the win!

Same here. The blue deck is the one that grabs my attention. If the KS doesn't hit the goal to make that possible, I will be conflicted on keeping the pledge or not.

I have quite a few things going on, and to my detriment I let myself be complacent in the prep for this project having done it so many times before. What slipped my mind was new manufacturer = new options; something I should have picked up instantly as I do a lot of sourcing + manufacturing...

Regardless, all that is lost now is a bit of time; the project is not complete with an expensive and unadorned box that we are stuck with, and there is still the opportunity to rectify this. In business I am feel that there are very few 'mistakes' a thinking (and learning) person can make, and this one was definitely an opportunity to improve. It also gave me more hope to do USPCC cards in the future.

I have talked to GWH and the quote for USPCC cards + GWH box is insane. Without going into the details, it was enough to warrant restarting the project and passing the savings onto the backers.

I'll be cancelling the current project shortly and restarting in 1-2 weeks; I'll let you know :)

Thanks to everyone who gave some blunt advice here (esp. Montenzi); I would not presume to turn down any advice, especially advice that has substantive immediate benefit. See you in 1-2 weeks for a 3-deck campaign (not 2+1) with at least 1 awesome extra where you will save a few dollars per deck!

Let me say this publicly that I respect the HELL out of you for doing this. You got my loyalty for sure from now on. I like your decks and your art and your style and now your business sense and ability to step back and save everyone some money to achieve a better result. Mad props.

I second this. When a business is willing to acknowledge that they didn't have all the information they needed initially and are willing to roll things back to get them right, that is incredibly powerful. This kind of goodwill isn't possible to buy. Well done.

Now here's hoping that the blue deck is more accessible and less expensive the second time around. :D

Ben - This is an awesome outcome for backers as well as for yourself. I do hope you will check with other US based tuckbox manufacturers for the current and any future projects with USPCC as the printer. Hope everything is well otherwise at your end.

This is a good move for everyone involved Ben. Despite my previous comments, this really shows that you not only respected the input from this community, you acted upon it. Very impressive. I will be fully in on this project when you relaunch this. I wish you the best of luck on your research.

Hey Everyone,

I have almost finished updated the project page with a few notable differences:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/el ... n=02a822f6" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

1) ALL 3 decks will be available from the start!
2) SIGNIFICANTLY reduced stretch goals!
3) An average saving of $3 PER DECK across the board!
4) Cards by USPCC, Boxes by GWH!
5) I have something really limited and cool planned as well, but it's not quite ready to show yet. Make sure to check the project page before you pledge though :)

All in all, this is much more affordable, achievable and sustainable. I look forward to seeing you there!

Yeah, the 'markup' on outsourcing boxes by USPCC was crazy, esp as they are only facilitating not designing.

The re-launch is planned for Tuesday 11th - 1 week away!

Pledged for a Blue deck.

It looks like the borders on these are very thin, so here's hoping the registration (coming from USPCC) doesn't suck.

I want 2 whites and 2 blues. The only earlybird options are for 1 deck (any) and 3 decks (all 3).

These might be stupid questions, but here goes: Can I pledge the 1 deck earlybird 4 times? Can I pledge the 3 decks but turn down the black for another color, then add-on my fourth later? Or do I have to pledge the "3 of any" (not earlybird price) then add-on to get my 2 whites and 2 blues?

How best to go about getting what I want lol

You'd want to hear from Ben anyway, but to answer this:
PiazzaDelivery wrote:Can I pledge the 1 deck earlybird 4 times?
This is only possible if you use 4 different accounts, and it might not be worth it due to shipping.

In these cases (assuming the other options you ask about aren't possible), I usually pledge for the single EB and add on whatever else I want.

That's right - you would be paying shipping four times, and KS only allows you to do one pledge per account.

I suggest go with the 3 deck earlybird and add on 1 deck, then send me a message after you fill out the survey and I will manually adjust your reward to get you 2+2 instead of 1+1+2. Just don't forget to send me the message - I am sure I will forget :)

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to drop a line to let you know that the first backers are reporting their Infinitum decks received!

Given the stress, anxiety and brutal customer service I have dealt with over the course of Covid, almost every backer in this project has been beyond incredible. Out of tens of thousands of non-Kickstarter customers during the same period, those 500-odd people have showed the most respect by FAR with communication, patience and understanding. I said it in a project update and I'll say it here - THANK YOU if you are one of them! You have no idea how much it means to not be shouted at via email(s) every day because of delays - it has made this so much better than it could have been!

Let me know what you think about the Infinitum decks!

Full Deck Scans:
Black - https://cardscans.piwigo.com/index?/cat ... itum_black
White - https://cardscans.piwigo.com/index?/cat ... itum_white
Blue - https://cardscans.piwigo.com/index?/cat ... nitum_blue

Note: Mine got lost in the mail, got these a little late. The tucks on these are amazing! its very easy to go over the top with foiling, however these tucks have that beautiful balance between the foil and the stock that emphasize the embossing instead of losing it. The colors on the cards are vibrant, and the art isnt too over top for the theme while still allowing the intricate and beautiful drawn art to shine. Awesome sets!
