Idk. Monarchs are one of my all-time favorite, simple, back designs. I'd rather have a brick of different Monarch colors than Rider Backs. They're basically my "standard" deck.

aha, I've yet to purchase a single Monarch but was recently thinking of starting a Rider Back collection (collecting the different colors and variations, using the newer prints) but then again, my wallet is crying pretty hard as it is

I know I am going to break down and get these just because I have all the others, but I think a retirement is in order soon. Monarchs are my favorite decks but I'm good now. They can just leave the classic blue ones in production if it is their flagship deck, which I think it is.

The Purple JAQKs are one of my very favorite decks! Love the metallic inks. To me they are more interesting than the monarchs

I thought Target was trying to get rid of their current stock? All the Targets near me have ditched the card stand and now the decks just hang loose on an endcap.

It's pretty, but I don't think it'll sell out since it's their basic deck. I'll take my time and wait for local retailers.

As for the Target endcap, I talked with an employee one day (they had red High Victorians and they were all dented ) and the cards come as a mixed unit now in a POP display.

If they put some 'luxe' on them like the gold version then I would get them but nah. For an awesome purple deck, I'll wait for the second version of Aurum.

Target has Monarchs that are labeled navy but they look black. Probably in natural light it may pop.

Yeah the "Navy" Monarchs are reaaaaaaaally dark. Even in natural light it's just the slightest shade of blue. The rich purple on these looks pretty good though, but guess I'll know for sure when they get here. 2 decks shipped was just under $24.

They came in the mail yesterday. They are Monarchs so you know what you are getting. They look and feel great. The only thing I didn't expect was that the card back is a muted purple. The card box is a dark purple. The card back is almost a light plumb color. Considering how dark the blue box and cards are I was expecting a darker purple on the card back but in no way is it disappointing. For the price, they are still one of the best decks on the market.

Got these yesterday too, I like the shade of purple on the cardbacks, but I'm pretty annoyed that just about every USPCC deck now has registration issues. What's strange is that it's not even consistent within the same deck of cards. On mine, in new deck order, the spades have pretty decent registration, and then it starts to slip through the diamonds and clubs, with the hearts having more irregular sized borders.

The cards are cut in stripes, therefore this can happen if some are aligned properly and just some aren’t aligned correctly.
