Yes. This was a nice one to find in my box this month. I believe those interested can get a prototype deck at their website.

The original post was before I started collecting and found this community, but this deck is pretty neat. I like it.

Re: 5th Kingdom Semi-transformative Deck WIP on Behance
Yes! I have greate news. KS campaign will start on 27th September with the help of Will Roya. After all your advances I decided to make two versions of the backside of cards. So there will be an option for choosing. Thanks to all of you for your help and advances in this deal. I hope that KS will be successful and the final result will be the best quality )). On this image, you can see my vision of how it should be in reality. But of course, the final result depends on KS and Will Roya.

Reason: Fixed the Kickstarter banner. FYI: It's the "kickup" tags we use, the "kickstarter" tags doesn't work for some reason.

Re: 5th Kingdom semi-transformation deck
There's a lot to like about this deck. I enjoy the artwork and the separate themes for the suits. USPCC is a huge plus. I am a bit disappointed the artwork is the same for both decks, but that's not a huge issue given the differences for the tuck cases and card backs. The biggest hesitation I have would be the tuck embossing. I am picky and not a fan of standard, glossy tucks. A 50K goal is going to be extremely difficult to reach for the embossing stretch goal, so I guess I will keep an eye on this one and jump in if it looks like that will be unlocked.
Nice work on this Will!
EDIT: Also, it's very cool to have the artist listed on the tuck box. Giving props where they are due. Classy AF

Re: 5th Kingdom Semi-transformative Deck WIP on Behance
I really wish the matte tuck and foil were before custom seals. I will never understand having such hard on for tuck seals. I really wish designers would start going the way of The Parlour for seals. On the bottom. These red seals don't match or even contrast the tuck colors in a good way.
I would rather the decks just have matte stock, foil and embossing standard at $15 per deck. At $10 per deck, for the glossy box, I don't think it will reach those stretches. Gold ink on a glossy box is just not a good substitute.
Don't get me wrong $10 isn't too high for what it is, I would just rather pay more off the bat for the nice tuck.
I do like the tuck design, card backs and art. I am very torn on this one. I have it saved to check it out again. Maybe I'm just in a mood. The glossy standard tuck is just disappointing.

See the other 5th Kingdom thread for my disappointment with the tucks. However, I really like the design of the cards and backs.

Re: 5th Kingdom semi-transformation deck
I'm LOVING this deck - I have a copy of the prototype, and am glad it's being produced in two high quality editions.

I'm a huge fan of transformation decks, and this one is especially creative and beautiful!

The artwork of this stunning deck is by Russian artist Maria Fedoseeva, and this project fared well in a Communication Arts Competition in 2019, making it onto the final shortlist, so it has already been the subject of praise.

I've just posted a detailed review of it with pictures here:

I’m in; this art is great. I prefer an embossed tuck as well, but I feel it’s priced appropriately for what it is.

My thoughts exactly. I will take embossed matte tucks over fancy seals every time.STLBluesNut wrote:I really wish the matte tuck and foil were before custom seals. Price for deck below $9 shipped to EU (6 deck EB tier)? That's a no-brainer!

Re: 5th Kingdom Semi-transformative Deck WIP on Behance
You assume correctly. In early 2018, Natalia hadn't yet been known to have abandoned her backers.STLBluesNut wrote:Wtf did I just read up there?! Lol.PipChick wrote:

Until she didn't fulfill her last several projects (under her own name, at least), Natalia was well regarded as both a competent designer and reliable KS project creator. She successfully sold her designs to other outlets as well, like Penguin Magic. It seems to me she can still be redeemed, but first, she would have to make every effort to fulfill her three (I think it's three) abandoned projects, and then, I think, she'd do well to sell her designs via third party producers (again, such as Penguin Magic) until such time as she has delivered enough product to regain people's trust. She obviously still wants to produce playing cards; she has produced several decks in the same vein as her previous work, such as her successful Christmas decks and the like, and has tried to sell them under someone else's banner. However, until she fulfills the abandoned projects, there are many people who will loudly boycott her efforts. As a designer, she has a very recognizable style, and I don't think even trying to hide her name will conceal her involvement in a project.
It's too bad, because she really is a good designer. I very much want to resume collecting her work. But, until she makes good on her outstanding commitments to me and others, and attempts to rebuild trust, I can't foresee that happening.
This space intentionally left blank.

Will Roya was only one person who offered me a help with Kickstarter. I haven’t experience in this deal but he has. He take all financial risks in this deal and bring costumers to this project. I think he have some arguments why the price is low. I can only trust him

IMO, Will is a good person to work with on something like this. I’m glad you were able to get together and bring this deck to life. I’m looking forward to receiving it.Fedoseeva wrote:Will Roya was only one person who offered me a help with Kickstarter. I haven’t experience in this deal but he has. From my dealings with his company and from other's opinions here, Will is definitely a great guy to work with and have in your corner backing this. It is a really nice design and I am happy you found a way to bring it to life.

Congrats on getting funded. While I can‘t back this campaign atm, due to several reasons, I‘ll definetly going to pick some decks up after the fulfillment on Will’s website.

Re: 5th Kingdom semi-transformation deck
Looks like the stretch goals have been updated to go for the tuckcase upgrades instead:
"If we reach 15k (most likely) the black tuck box will be upgraded to a matte vellum tuck and if we reach 20k (possible) we will upgrade the blue tuck.
Also I have decided to lower the black deck printing to ~1,000 to make it a even more limited edition and rare." -Will Roya in the Project Update.
I'm a bit more excited now with the matte tuck tbh.

Re: 5th Kingdom semi-transformation deck
So fml. A PSA. I got my 5th Kingdom deck today. I pledged for only 1 deck because I only wanted the black deck with the one way back and courts. However, opening the package, I got the blue one.
Apparently, when the surveys came out there was an update that came out as well directing you to put which color deck you wanted in the ADD ONS AND FEATURES field. I did not see this update.
So the PSA part. Read updates around survey time for your pledges. Make sure if it is a campaign where you choose the edition at the end, you actually choose it somewhere. And for the designers, please don't do this. Take the time and make an actual field where you pick the version so it doesn't get overlooked by a supporter that backs so many kickstarters that their email is full of updates and doesn't read every single one.
I have never seen another survey that had a pledge tier where you pay for one or more decks and choose during the survey that did not have a dedicated field. Usually by the time a survey comes out there has been many months that have passed and having to make the choice between decks is forgotten. Even take the 1 second and click the box that makes it a required field.
Edit: the art on these is really incredible! I hope I can pick up a black deck at some point for a reasonable price.

I have already spoken with Will. He is out of the black decks and is in the process of trying to get some back from a backer who bought a lot of them. It is possible. I don't think the black ones will be available though.
