Somehow I missed the version you did on the orange stock/background. That looks awesome as well.

I can't wait to see David's review of these decks.

I'll post two photo as a reference of cold foil on boxes (NEO LTD and NEO:WAVE Ultra boxes). It's almost impossible to scratch such foil. Edges are scratchable though.

Another option - I can use their standard paper stock for boxes BUT apply 100% foil as a base. And then mask some areas to reduce retraction by printing with dark green colors. If you check NEO:WAVE Ultra cards, you can see that areas printed by dark inks are in contrast to other bright colors. It will give us some contrast and allow to print some crazy designs on a box.

It depends on the final design. If areas without foil are not too big, they will be CMYK printed without a foil base (for even better contrast).

MONTENZI IS A SUPERHERO!

that is all. carry on. :D

lol but seriously, I'm sorry I'm so soooo late to the party here but these decks are looking amazing! And, despite reservations I probably would've had in considering the use of such outrageously bold colors, you once again impress with striking such harmony and balance in such bright, daringly vivid color palettes! I actually really like that saffron shade... so unique and an oddly satisfying complementary color to the green deck!

way to go and keep it up!! :ucstar: :ucstar: :ucstar: :ucstar: :ucstar:

Totally agree, whereas if you had described it to me without a render I would have likely not been so positive. Simply :geek: beautiful and different in all the right ways.

Completely OT, but can I just say how nice it is to see you back Amy!!

In other news, I'm not too keen on the yellow/orange whatever it is. It's got a weird 1990s Goulbourn Valley fruit salad tin vibe ... nup

However, unlike portcullis, I am very, very keen on the yellow. :-)

Thank you :) Yes, it's a puzzle now how to produce everything we want in one campaign. I love yellow and green as a set. I also like my original back.

You should know that new Cartamundi prices are not that good as they were before on small print runs and with cold foiled boxes. In some cases, it's +100% increase (compared to NEO:WAVE ULtra).
I don't really want to produce decks without foil in this campaign, and at the same time, they should be affordable ($15-18).

Options - to start small with foil on one side only. Or print decks without foil. Or print boxes without foil. Or don't offer EU friendly shipping and produce simple boxes elsewhere.

I'll discuss some options with Cartamundi next week as I have some ideas.

Perhaps make the foiling on the second side a stretch goal...?

I'll show you what we have now. Also, it's the first appearance of new heads (after a limited preview via Instagram). Hats, heads, weapons are work in progress.

Green is lighter, but I am not sure if I keep it or not! I may keep the same green as before to match the 2nd green back.

As you can see, all back designs are without borders. I don't want to mix back designs in this campaign as I have another idea on how to redesign this deck to make it different and print with borders. Not in this campaign.

Here is the plan:
1. Next printing date at Cartamundi - 16th of October (September is not for us)

2. Yellow: foil both sides from the start of the campaign. This deck will be more expensive anyway (production costs). It will be a limited deck!
Both green decks - foil one side and a stretch goal to add foil on both sides. BUT to do it, we need to start with foil on the front, not on back designs! Why? We should share the same plates for two decks, at least one side. So images and the foil pattern should be the same.

3. Boxes. I only know two manufacturers who can use cold foil on boxes — one of them Cartamundi. So most likely we'll be using simple boxes but with cold foil. AND they will be matte laminated on top of all foil and CMYK printed parts of the box. Still metallic, less shine, bulletproof.

4. I hope to launch within the next 10 days.

5. Funding goal - at least US$30000 8-)

Also, think about two decks only. Or just one yellow in foil. It's much easier, and they are different.

Work in progress. Nothing special at the moment. Tucks are simple, but I hope with cold foil. I'll add matte finish to 3D later. Let's shine today!

I prefer the green backs to the yellow. Though I don't see any reason not to do all three; the green and yellow as a two-color set, plus the awesome borderless as a limited version :)

I really like the orange-yellow design, but also like the green deck designs. I want all three. I can’t unsee it! I agree with “whatever his user name is now” that this is Montenzi’s best deck to date. I’m throwing his other cards in the trash when I get these...just kidding.

These designs look incredible. The yellow color is a fantastic companion to the green. Very excited for this launch!

Seeing as the number seven is pretty meaningful to this campaign, doesn't it stand to reason there should be SEVEN different decks on this campaign? I wouldn't object to that. Bring it on.

Oh man, please never ask me to show work in progress or test designs     I am happy with the colors I already have.  I am also ok with two colors only. I have other ideas on a classic back, but not in this campaign as courts should also be modified, and I don't have time.
