I would just like to say that I love all you guys and gals that aren't in the discussion of being banned.

We may never all uni-formally agree on anything, and I'm certainly a focal point of heavy and sometimes childish (for humor purposes) criticism, but UC is just awesome.

I remember the days when Paul (vasta) and I would basically disagree on everything. Can you even believe that he agrees with my posts more than not, seemingly, now? Is it because of me, or him?

yea, I've only been banned from one subreddit before and for honestly the most stupidest shit - storytime:

So, one of the art subs didn't want me posting the name of an artist to give credit to their work - even though it's clearly stated in the rules to do so... because apparently, they deemed it as promotion/spam... And yet, if you post your own work and then respond to questions/comments about it's a potential sale or about the piece's inspiration or other similar work done or a redirect to any other site/IG to learn more or pretty much anything else of relevancy, it's then considered self-promotion which is also not allowed... There's also some other nonsense about using original sources but only if it's a direct, static image - so not like as redirected to the original site it came from as that's also considered promotion...

Nor is it now allowed to use an artist's pseudonym (your own or someone else's) if it at all references to a social media account like IG for instance, which is basically a large percentage of modern artists out there these days... Basically, if your reddit username is the same or similar to a name you use elsewhere online in featuring your work, then you have to use 'me' or expose you full name - which most don't want to do online anyways - and if it's someone else's work, you gotta use the artist's real name - if you even know it, which most people don't since, as I said, a vast majority of modern artists these days are going by pseudonyms online to a.) protect their identity and b.) make an easily recognizable and unique brand for themselves... It's so incredibly stupid because it's like the rules of the sub are actively trying to keep artists and their work from getting out there rather than supporting them - ugh.

So, when I argued that that's total nonsense, they just resort directly to banning without even considering or responding to anything ya got to say as it's easier than having to explain that they basically just leave that bs up to the mod's discretion and whether or not they personally deem your post worthy enough to be featured as "art" - that's why there's very few comments ever left on any posts because there's really no room for discussion as it's so incredibly confined to their bs 'rules' due to how stupidly finicky they are about what is and isn't allowed - just a real shame as you can't really connect with people within that community there with so much needless censorship. And posts that do have more comments are usually full of those that don't actually provide any substance for convo - just mindless praise like "wow! great job!", while others are hardly ever of any relevance to the artist's work, like "she looks like my ex" or "I don't like short hair on girls" or whatever other stupid thought that might first pop into a redditor's head... ugh.
