Fontaine Sleight Edition
Zach released another recolor of the fan boy favorite- dark blue. Apparently it's a tie-in to a movie called "Sleight" that he had something to do with. He said that their were 10,000 made and was only charging $15. I got the email and immediately went to the site. Sold out already.

Re: Fontaine Sleight Edition
I find it hard to believe 10,000 gets sold out that quickly. Could he be pulling an E and limiting how many he sells, just so they sell out quicker and increases demand?

Re: Fontaine Sleight Edition
My guess is that people bought multiple bricks for resale since even the green brought a nice premium on ebay.. This time there might be way too many on ebay and the price will stay low

Trust me, you'll see them on Art of Play, San Diego Magic Shop etc. Zach specializes in hype, not integrity.

What's the point of being on the mailing list if you can't get a damn deck when it launches.
I’ve been at this a long time. And I’m tired.

Re: Fontaine Sleight Edition
Again, Zach isn't concerned with loyalty or integrity. He's a master hype machine. Simple formula.
1. Send out emails and newsletter to build up hype.
2. Print a limited run to create demand.
3. Release cards with no notice.
4. Don't limit purchase amount.
5. Watch gougers buy up most of the inventory.
6. Watch online as they resell them for drastically inflated prices.
7. Create same deck in different color.
8. Repeat process all over again.

Re: Fontaine Sleight Edition
The first sucker is in. $61 for 1 deck... The seller has more if you have the cash

This seems overly hash and critical, I don't think loyalty or integrity need to be called into question or really even play a part, but the equation seems a lot simpler than you seem to vilify it to be: Print the same number of decks he has printed for ever version of the deck, give a few days notice and release it to the public for sale.
I’ve been at this a long time. And I’m tired.

Re: Fontaine Sleight Edition
It's a very simple problem to solve. Limit the number of decks to 1 brick per person. He will never do that though. It would sto the gouging overnight. I know for a FACT he enjoys seeing the high prices his decks go for on eBay. He's trying to create a brand with Fontaine. Clothing and other items. He's trying to mimic the business model of Supreme, a brand he follow very closely.
