Our prototypes are in from MPC... they look great! (Of course the tucks will have foiling and embossing.)

Can't bitch about this deck. Just enough red and black to make out the suit at a distance. The white suit indicator is interesting. This deck has a complex ribbon design, but yet minimal at the same time. Does the suit indicator need a big fat border? Maybe in this case...


"A suit indicator is the big pip that traditionally is put on court cards, which is separate from the indices. The indices are in the corner and have the value and a pip, while the suit indicator is a separate bigger pip usually located on either side of the court's head. Its function is to make the suit more distinguishable from a distance." MF

Hey Guys!

We are nearing our Kickstarter release date! We are working on a couple of finishing touches on the different versions of the decks. We really want to make this deck to be about the Mongol Empire as much as it is about the art of making luxury playing cards so we are working on a couple of things... We will release more details soon.

For now, here are two court cards of Ilkhanate version of the deck...

Wow, that's quite a change from the initial courts you posted. But, I like! Second the request for a specific date/time.

I like the courts but I think there's too much white space. I would stretch it out somehow or shrink down the borders, expanding the actual images.

Sorry, I have been scarce since mid-November. I tossed you into the deck artists group.

Thanks for the comments guys! The launch date will probably be in mid February as we are working on some top secret stuff for the deck.

Here is another scene that we converted into a joker - It is Jebe being forgiven and promoted to General by Ghenghis Khan after confessing that it was he who had shot the arrow that hit Ghenghis in the neck.

I just had to do a double post today and show you guys this. I was skeptical of how one of our designers drew the face in the sketching part of the design, but WOW! now I just love the expression in his face.

C79studios - Disregard anything I said before; your cards have changed. I like that your thick ass boarder has an element sticking out from the edge. The quiver. I also like that your court figure heads are extending out into the border, but you have to much white space between the traditional court border and the indices. That is a lot of wasted space for the court card. NO suit indicator. This is an art deck.

The color version looks much better! As other mentioned there is too much white space between the frame and the card border. You could work on that!

As far as I can understand there will be two decks, one black and white and the colored version right?

Especially with an art deck...

Ok guys, here is the a progress pic of the new courts. It is not finished ... there are some small inconsistencies that we need to finish, but most of it should be done.

C79studios - I see the hands and the weapon. Subliminally, It's the bow because of the quiver. I guess your thumb looks smaller than the fingers. We like to see hands; It's traditional. Make the hand pop out...

C79studios - I see lots of mistakes if you are trying to make this a playable deck. I'm curious to see your other Joker. Does if have a little red in it? I see you like skinny clubs. I see a ribbon with some text for the transition of the cards. That's nice...

I really like the added color! I've cut way back on my KS pledging but I will definitely be in for a couple of these...and the dice as well. Great Job.

Also, it would be great if you would provide us with a KS pre-launch link. A lot of us like to plan our pledging strategy ahead of time and you can get quality feed back to prevent any mistakes or typos. Best of luck.
