Knowing Paul, it's going to be a beautiful tuck box and back design. If there's any knock on his decks, its the court cards. I hope he put as much effort and care into his courts as he did with the back design on this deck.

As most of you probably have seen, my next major release is getting close. Chancellor is already with EPCC and is printing right now. As with Zenith, there won't be any Kickstarter or other funding campaign, it will just be available via the Encarded store. As with it's predecessor, Chancellor will be a 1000 deck run, and I'll be holding back a few of those for future use. Meaning, there won't be many to go around.

While I don't have it in hand yet, I think it might be my favorite deck so far. It's a combination of all the things I've learned and experimented with over the years and I'm really excited to see it in hand. The back should be stunning, with not just one or two but FOUR metallic spot colors, all carefully intertwining to give a "border within a floating border." The tuck will be on the black stock like Zenith but has two foils and some really large scale embossing (which I had to refine 4 different times because my dreams tend to eclipse reality).

I expect the pre-order to be in roughly a week or so, so keep an eye out!

These look amazing, I'm really looking forward to these.

Can we expect the same type of pricing and limits as you had with Zenith? Are you limiting them to 4 per person?

Aurum is probably still my personal favorite as well, though I think this one will eclipse it. I'm really pleased with how Chancellor came together and I think it will be pretty stunning in person.

Expect a sales model very similar to Zenith, though I did decide to forgo the 4 deck limit as for the vast majority of buyers for Zenith it wasn't a concern at all. Only perhaps 3-4 people were interested enough to take more than 4 and the hassle of setting it up and managing the many questions isn't worth it.

It will use the black stock of Zenith but all the detail will be via large scale blind embossing, copper and gloss black foils. The digital printer proof would be completely confusing to folks and result in a thousand questions on why it looks like a huge jumble of "stuff" on top of each other, so I have to do a mockup that tries to capture what it will look like, but haven't gotten it satisfactory yet.

Don't worry though, it will be very classy and have a lot of subtle detail, and the seal is an integral part of the design, not just a slapped on afterthought (you can see a prototype of that on Facebook). I hope to have a real paper proof in the near future and will of course share that.

Are there 12 unique colours for each courtier? Because that would be really nice. And cool. This deck is gorgeous.
