This looks like a mix of their first 2 decks. I never had the first but I loved the second deck. That's what got me to fall in love with thin borders. I don't like the look of this one as compared to their second deck but definitely worth considering since I wish I bought more of their second deck.
Were they selling decks during the event?

The invite was sent out to Singaporeans only - here's a snippet from it:
Hey, Huron here!
I wanted to personally invite you to a Virtuoso cardistry gathering we're organising this year.

The last time we organised this event was in 2013, where we celebrated the official launch of the Launch Edition Virtuoso Deck.
This year, we're holding an event to launch the third edition of the Virtuoso Deck, the upcoming Spring/Summer 2015 edition. Don't worry, you don't have to buy anything.
More than anything, we just wanna hang out with you and bring our community together. That means that we're having an epic jam, taking videos, photos, signing autographs and have an awesome time together.
We have not made any official announcements about the launch of this deck yet... But hey, because you're from Singapore, I figured I let you know before everyone else! (Singapore pride yo.)

Thanks, Firthetic. That makes sense. For a local event, just notify the locals. Still, I wouldn't have minded knowing about the party so I could share in the excitement. Can't wait for the general release.

not a bad color choice. could have been worse i guess.
the 2nd deck looks great in flourishes so that i would consider picking up 4-6 decks of this new variation

Thanks for the link!

I dont think its been said yet, but there is more than just a recolour, there are court differences from the previous versions, in particular the hands etc. Not a big change from the old courts, but at least some effort has been put in there, ahem fon.. ahem..

Thank you for the info. They changed things from the first to the second version, too, though I would still buy them even if all decks were just recolors of the launch edition. Fantastic decks and the quality of the past two decks was amazing so I'm definitely getting some of these.

Just a quick note to say that we will have the new Virts deck available for purchase on the same day that they release it on their own site. No word on price yet I'm afraid, but I doubt it will be the same as theirs for various reasons. We will know the exact release date fairly soon hopefully.

I guess that means the previous Virts decks sold pretty well with all the resellers. Which is good news for cardists, I for one would love to see more cardistry decks on the market (not including the countless Wynn clones).

I hope all these pre-orders aren't going to affect those planning to buy straight from the virts site.

These look so much better from the 2014 version. The blue is attractive, goes well with the orange.

We've stocked all 3 versions of the Virts decks and suppers them from day one. We were given permission by the Virts to take pre orders, actively encouraged actually. So we did.
The reality is that this is our full time family business. If this was your way to make a living, would you not do the same? Try and maximise sales? Our business wouldn't last very long without profit.
Fair criticism is fine, but negative comments like that don't help us, we've been contacted more than a few times by our regulars who said thank you for being so proactive in getting word out there about the pre orders and they would have been annoyed if they hadn't realised.

Indeed - supply and demand. Nothing out of the ordinary there.
For what it's worth if I were to list 'ethical' sellers Paul would head the list for me...

Thanks Joe. Really appreciate that.
Victor - perhaps I was a little over zealous with that reply, sorry - my opinion hasn't changed but maybe I was a little harsh with the wording.

I wasn't trying to be negative about anything, it's perfectly fine that you sell decks to make a living. Sorry if my comment was taken out of context.

jerichoholic wrote:It's perfectly fine that you want to sell the decks, I just don't think we need resellers constantly posting on the forum to direct people to their sites, we know you exist and regularly check out your sites if we need something.
I'm not going to pretend I haven't posted links for other decks, but it's certainly not constant. If any of the mods/admins have an issue with it - i'll gladly change how I post.

If you want to let regulars know about presales you could always send out emails.

Naturally, but there are plenty of people registered on this forum who have not opted in for our newsletter, i'm not about to send emails to anyone that doesn't want one.
Anyway - i've said my peace.
