Wasn't something like this tried a little while back? Is it a relaunch?

It's a re-launch. The creator revamped the decks according to feedback; the biggest change is the courts (from b&w sketch to full color portrait), removal of some text elements, and revision of the backs.

I like the theme a lot, and if enough is pledged, the creator will also make the original conception of the deck available.

If I recall correctly (and I may not), he's not going with USPCC, but with MPC (?) because they allow smaller print runs. I'm in for a couple decks; I've heard good enough things about MPC, and again, I like the execution of this theme, which is of particular interest to me.

Where's Robert Lancaster! Get on this deck! :D

Actually it's not MPC, it's Quality card company which seems cheap.

MPC is pretty decent. Let's see how QPC does.

Dunno if $12 a deck is justified though.

I must confess, as much as I am partial to this subject matter and this execution of it, the $12 / deck price point discouraged me from pledging for more. By shaving a couple bucks off the per-deck price, he might have taken a lot more money out of my wallet. Alas.

What other recent decks have been produced by QPC?

No other decks that I know of.

Interesting update coming on this deck. Quoting the project creator: "I'll be posting an update later today with information on the switch of printers over to Expert Playing Card Company. We are going to be partnering with Expert Playing Card Co. and the Conjuring Arts Research Center to make sure this is the highest quality deck and printed in an attractive limited edition! I hope you will continue to support the project, thank you!"

For those that were on the fence because of the printer choice, this might help you over.

I won't be backing this deck, but I am still happy about that update. EPCC is heading in the right direction when they're helping out "the little guys" and offering a more affordable quality alternative to USPCC. Two thumbs up!

All of a sudden, the price per deck is no longer as hard to swallow as it was for me. I've liked EPCC products. Obviously, the project creator continues to keep his ears to the ground. This is awesome news, on multiple fronts. I hope this helps the project to get more traction; I'd really like to see this thing funded, printed, and in my hands!

What is this Expert Playing Card Co? Are they new? Are they a cheaper alternative?

It's Bill Kalush in association with Conjuring Arts that has (or found) some factories in Asia that prints decent (comparable to USPCC) playing cards. Here's a link to his intro thread on PCF.

I can't say that I know anything about their prices, but I'm fairly certain that they at least offer a smaller minimum run than USPCC making it a "cheaper alternative" for those who don't want/need to print 2500 decks.

Thanks for the link. I'll check it out. I love USPCC but I'm open to other options for future projects.

This is a solid deck. Great theme and awesome graff cards. I don't see any problems or errors. The back even looks kind-of vintage. I guess people just have to get over that it's not USPCC. Does anyone know what the Ouija symbol in the top right cornor means?

The idea behind that is that the deck doubles as a divination deck of sorts.

I wonder since they are in Asia if the delivery is going to be longer than most?

It seems to me with the solid design on this deck and the small goal, it should be funded. For some reason it has stagnated. Houdini isn't my favorite magician but the deck seems worth the 12, especially now that it will be printed at EPCC. I backed it, just wondering what more to do to push this to the small $6,ooo.oo goal...

I backed it, as well, after she changed to EPCC. Bummer that's stagnating.

These decks now available, produced by Legends I imagine, at their site, only $10 each plus shipping. Use the code GET20 for 20% off. Seems to be put out by the same people as the Legends Day of the Dead deck and also the Hipster decks from Jody Eklund. Discount works on all them.

Placed my order!

The "about this deck" page says that this deck has full color, painted illustrations on the face cards, but the cards shown are from the first campaign (black and white outline sketches), so I'm not sure which version of the deck is actually the one being produced. I've asked for clarification.

Did you ever get the deck? Are the faces in full color, like the first post in this thread?

I did receive them, quickly and in excellent condition. The cards are great, but they are not the same version as the color, painted illustrated version as appeared in the second Kickstarter attempt. These are the black-and-white sketches from the original KS attempt (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ar ... cc-printed).
