Another fun one by Marianne and a follow-up to Thalassic from last year.

Great artwork. But I hate not having a non-gilded option.

That's exactly what I thought when I saw this. Until I realized I don't have any pirate animal decks.

Someone needs to lock me in the basement. I have just gone in for all 4 of the Thalassics plus a coin
Overall they are so much 'brighter' than many of the IT decks and some individual cards - jokers, Aces, GGbacks, are standouts
How is it that nobody has told us their thoughts on receiving their Thalassic Ⅰ on its thread?

Does Isolated Thunderstorm still use NPCC for printing? I wonder how their decks handle these days. Oddly, the combination I like the most, Blue Lagoon from the original Thalassic campaign but with two way courts, is non-existent. I might've opted for that if it existed because I love the front of the tuck a ton, but post-KS these decks are near $60. Overall, these are great decks it seems but I'm very much in the maybe category. I've currently pledged all 4 decks from the series.
I haven't been enticed by an IT deck in a while.

Think they have been using MPC for their Beta Finish. The cards are hecking slippery

It depends on the deck. The campaign for the 1st Thalassic said they were using MPC. This one doesn't say. Though confusingly, the notes on this campaign that talk about adding on the 1st one mention that some were made by WJPC or Kingstar. Which is weird. Can't remember any decks that used 3 different printers. I left a message on the campaign for clarification.

This was her reply.
"I will be happy to elaborate. So basically, my Thalassic 1 was manufactured in much fewer copies, than the announced maximal print run of 2,500 of each edition, which is why I only have a few dozens left today. As of today, all existing Thalassic 1 decks are made by MPC. I am considering to do a second, small print run and now with Thalassic 1 nominated in 3 DOTY awards, that makes it even more likely to happen. I want to be ahead in my information to backers that potentially the second, small print run could be done by WJPC or Kingstar as I want to keep my options open on that. If the second print run is made by another printer, then some aspects might differ slightly, especially in regards to edge-gilding, colors on tucks etc. which is impossible to match 100 percent with the first production. In other words - I was adding a notion that will cover a future potential scenario that hasn't been realized yet

As for this project, Thalassic II, I am considering and running tests with several manufacturers, but will most likely end up using WJPC or Kingstar for this one. Cheers"

So if I have ordered the bundle with all 4 decks (T1 & T2) will I be receiving the original MPC T1's
I have asked in the K/S comments - well I think I have but it is not showing up yet
OOPS yes it is (along with Adam's) it is just confusing when some Comments are Pinned (WTF)
I am getting cold feet. As it is I really only LOVE the GG from T1. My first ever dealings with IT years ago, went badly

I will be interested in your opinion of your MPC deck Adam as I am wondering why she is choosing not to go back to them

I've personally found MPC to handle better than WJPC. I didn't know MPC does gilding unless she used a different party to do so, which may have added cost.

I like them. The Aces are awesome. Especially for the blue lagoon. Backs are nice. Handling is decent/ok. The gilding, I think, makes fanning a tad sticky. I've had previous MPC decks that handled incredibly though (Castle). Courts are colorful and fun. Don't love the number cards, but theyre not bad. Tucks are rad. Im glad I got them.

Hey, if there are any Victorian Aussies, who would like to get in on my KS pledge - PM me.
I may be able to do free postage to Melbourne or Western Victoria

It would be great if Marianne upgraded the seals of T2, they are pretty boring considering what they potentially could have been and compared to the T1 seals

I'm torn on seals. I love the look of them, but since I open all my decks, I'm kinda team no seals.

I open mine 'carefully' so they generally still look good but if they are super beautiful, like the T1's, I sometimes remove them but I generally have a couple so one stays intact anyway

If the cellophane has a pull tab, I just remove the top part of the cello and stick the intact seal onto the remaining bottom part. If I ever decide to move it somewhere else, that's a problem for another time. Most seals I just cut into with a U shape along the thumb cutout.
I agree the seals this time around are nothing compared to the first set in the series.

You mean there are
cards inside these tucks?

No, they are Schrodinger's cards, they both exist and do not exist that the same time... until you open the tuck at whcih point the Universe collapses into itself.
