I'm more of a lurker and less of a poster, but looks like i need to make an initial post to get approved by the mods, so here we go.

I just got into this "obsession" and did not EVER see me getting into collecting playing cards. I'm still at a loss on how i got here this quickly.

My wife and i wanted a new deck of playing cards to start playing some card games at the dinner table instead of keeping our faces in our stupid cell phones and watching Netflix every night. We were just in a funk and were trying to think of something more interactive to be doing versus the phones and the TV. Remembered we LOVED playing card games a long time ago and were like, let's get a "fun" deck of cards.

Bought the Bird in the Hand deck. $9.99 deck and it's freaking awesome (still is even after I've discovered Thirdway Industries, Art of Play, Charmie Dreams the Cat, Kings Wild Project, Stockholm17, etc...)

So for the past 2 months i've fallen down a dark hole and I'm trying to build a collection overnight, i need help!

I'm not into cardistry "yet", but i think i'd like to. Right now it's more about collecting more artistic decks and enjoying them with my wife and friends.

Welcome - good story. The BIH deck is incredibly cheap in Oz but other than them , at least you are in the right country to have fallen down the rabbit whole for pretty much everywhere else Shipping is a killer.

Welcome to UC officially. I am not sure many of us intentionally started collecting playing cards. It just happens. I guess Magicians and cardists would be the exceptions.

I intentionally viewed reviews of marked decks and decided which ones I would collect, it was just this bit that I did not plan
