Gotta ask, why are the patreon versions listed as $777,00 on the website? Are they seriously for sale?
He has them up for information purposes. The high prices are so that no one tries to order them.
Dualism OG (the gold one) was originally sent only to Patrons, and the remaining stock is very limited — it’s not really meant for general sale.
I am keeping certain ‘unavailable’ decks listed with very high prices. That way, if I ever needed them for special bundles (like the complete collection I offered a couple years ago), they were technically still in the shop.
Recently, I’ve noticed that this practice can cause confusion for new visitors who don’t know my work — some see the high prices and feel outraged, without realizing the context.
It also gives trolls an easy excuse to attack, which isn’t worth my time, but I do worry it might confuse genuine customers.
Because of this, I’m considering changing how I handle these listings to make things clearer. I’ll probably ask Patrons directly, but I’d welcome any feedback here too!
Here's an idea: you keep the super high prices for the decks you don't intend to sell, but put a quick disclaimer either in the product name or the first line of the product description. "Not currently available." In the description at the bottom, you could go into more detail. "* In order to make this visible in the store for posterity, but to nonetheless reflect that it's currently not available, I've put in an artificially high price."
The universally understood “Sold Out” with no price has always been a fine way to handle this - no need for explanation, no need for troll bait
The idea they may be available in some bundle at some point is not really involved with “single deck sold out” for a deck that was never really for sale in the first place
confusing situation that is probably easiest to explain by not explaining it at all.

Damn. I really wanted to get just the light/dark deck. Lowest reward is for all three - too high a price for right now
I have 777 each, so I thought it was wiser sell the trident only (otherwise the decks quantities would have been "mismatched") - I am sorry for this!

No worries - I have lots of your decks and love your work. If I bought everything I wanted I'd be living in a box

I had a faint bit of hope to just get it too, but I knew enough to think it's too good to be true. There's always a lock behind the best one.
When I first started collecting I made the rule for myself of never spending $100au (of late that is $66us) on a single deck. I have become quite proud of that and in some ways it is quite liberating

there is still at least one Gerich deck that I would spring for should it ever come up for sale again - surely a few others properly spaced in time are going to be a survivable trespass - should I spot a norwood cheap enough with my wallet fat enough at the time….
I almost jumped at the latest norwood (lack of cheapness aside - but I would have considered full retail before passing it by), but I am currently under a restraining order I took out on myself to prevent that - unfortunately that order expires at an unspecified date.
I'vr had my eye on a bunch there... Didn't bid on anything during 52+J because I knew I couldn't compete with the live bidders. I'll be trying my luck on these.
Gandalf and I coordinate sometimes when I think it's something he's interested in and doesn't have, then I don't bid, especially with Elaine and Karl decks. In such a case, I live vicariously through him as he's more likely to build a full collection and the one who first inspired me to look into these artists.
I'm more interested in 19th century transformation decks. That's an expensive rabbit hole but it gives me such an appreciation seeing the intricate creativity printed from an engraving, not just a digital print.
I wanted to share some exciting news: Dualism Chroma will be featured in a video game.
The game is called Unhinged, a survival title now live on Steam.
As far as I know, this might be the first time a modern deck of playing cards appears in a new-generation video game that’s not related to poker.
