They usually are here to promote their cards ahead of time but this one popped up today

Lots of foil so Im in, and if you wanted an alternative to Lotreks Arabic type decks.

not sure if there is some new 1001 Nights release tie-in or what but....

As mentioned, a great alternative to Lotrek's recent Arab/Islam decks if you're interested in the theme. I'm not a huge fan of the J and Q lettering and some of the design elements if I was being highly critical, but overall, this seems to be a great offering with unique tuck box and wonderful art. Very well done.

Room One is doing some lovely things with their tuck boxes and cards in this project.

Some of the tuck boxes cleverly unfold to make gorgeous buildings:

Others incorporate lovely paper-cuts:

Plus there's shimmering cold foil on the cards:

And custom gilding:

And then there's the beautiful collector set:

These guys sure know the kinds of things that we collectors go for!

XD Room One just suddenly:
HELLO WORLD, here is another new project

Without even, show any teasers and something like that before it goes live

Too bad for Lotrek, whom frequent doing Islamic art themed deck, YET never once he created a deck that revolves around this timeless classics 1001 Nights

That looks more like a half deck rather than a mini deck. Bicycle has made these in the past and I have some and they are cool for travelling but surprisingly hard to play with.

It's basically like those Air Deck I've seen that share the same shape along with those ones with the Chinese vampire theme, only these have custom artworks hahaha

Just to correct myself, it was actually the Hoyle Slice decks I was thinking about, not Bicycle brand.

The court illustrator seems to be the same as Bloom's Urashima Room One deck. They would be good companions to each other, but I just can't afford more cards that are ALMOST outstanding.

Understandable

I started to feel, we will never have a break when there are loads of good designers, and they happened to crash the entire month full of campaigns back to back, and the only thing that limit us is money

I'm sure he has. We just need to wait for 1000 and 1 reprints until it's released.

The typeface is just killing it for me. Did some searching and found that capital i and j with the dots are somewhat accurate according to some Arabian fonts out there.

But I guess you gotta make sure you get the height right to make them look capital, which I can see is inconsistently applied here. The i's look okay on the certificate and one of the boxset. But it's obviously shorter on all the tuckboxes and the other boxset. The j on courts look okay but you need to see them side by side with Q and K to make sure.

Also the N, G and T are just not sexy looking compared to common Arabian typefaces but this is subjective opinion. Having said all that, I'm still considering backing.

I mean, it's all made up at the end of the day considering Arabic has its own alphabet. I just happen to not like the interpretation here. That was an in-depth dive, Disenchanted. Well done.

I went back to review this project as some of the pictures were enticing. Great of them to take actual pictures of cards and have working prototypes.

I'm sad to see the Qubba edition doesn't appear to be foiled and there isn't a cold foil version without gilding, housed in either tuck.

A cold foil version without gilding would've received my pledge.

Last day for this Kickstarter! Personally I really like what I'm seeing here. Room One Playing Cards has been producing some really lovely looking decks lately.

It's always a pleasant surprise when a reward arrives sooner than expected! Fulfillment date was April and mine arrived on April 3. 8-)

I'll post scans this weekend in my Show Us Your Cards thread, if no one beats me to it.
