Congrats on the launch Sinecure!
Thanks Manu. Appreciated!

Fingers crossed it gets over the line!

Honeybee, If you’re reading, I really tried to amp up the jokers a bit - but just couldn’t land on anything in time for launch. Nonetheless, I appreciated the good feedback and the Drafting Board support generally. If I’m lucky enough to get a crack at v2, that’ll be my first order of business.

Thank you both. Pretty exciting to be funded on day one!

My focus from here will be to get them made as good as humanly possible. I’m pretty confident that RoomOne and Letterpress will do a great job.

Received some prototypes for the wallet. They look fantastic.

room one is printing these? thats interesting since they haven't really done any complex decks that I know of, the foiling on samurai otter was...ok but there wasn't a lot of it.

Yes, we went with Room One but we met with a bunch of others. i really like the handling of their decks generally - especially Fox’s Wedding (the same stock we are using) - and the low impact gilding they used on Night Parade.

The particular type of foiling they used on Samuari Otter seemed like it would work best for what we wanted on the faces. They call it multicolour foil (Torres can correct me if I got the name wrong) but it’s a sort of refractive clear layer (similar to cold foil but not the same) which we think will work well for thin lines.

But, yeah, can’t argue that they’re definitely the new kid on the block so we haven’t seen their full bag of tricks yet.

We got a really good vibe from them - neither too quick to say no, nor too quick to say yes, if you know what I mean.

Is this the first deck that has/will come out outside of the collection program cards?

No, there are many decks outside of the Room One collection system already, like Warriors of Stars by Blue Moon & CK Chong (the cards are holo too). You can check them out here: viewtopic.php?p=248774&hilit=warrior#p248774
They'll be available on our online shop later this month.

Also, there are Make Believe playing cards by Patrick Kun and VK.Vich. Here's the link: https://www.roomonecards.com/online-sho ... 78ca5cac7b
Just a heads up, the deck was printed on vintage elite stock, which is super stiff, and we don't plan on using it again.

There's also Tree of Vanity by Tony Lee, our Patreon decks, and more.

OH!!!! Thank YOU for reminding me
Room One DID have cards with holographic foil - it’s just not produced under their name: it’s Warriors of the Stars by Blue Moon

I posted these over on r/playingcards too so apologies if I’m spamming folks in multiple locations - but excited to share these pics I took of some sample decks from Room One.

I think they did an amazing job - thank you @TorresOver and team!

Especially love how the two foil types and the gilding turned out - and the tiny printing on the faces which needed to be clear for the puzzle.

Handle great too (I gave them a pretty intense workout). Tuck boxes and wallets still being made but tracking to schedule.

Yes, Globetrotter should be available through X-Decks once backers are fulfilled - at least the wallet and the gilded/ungilded decks will be. We printed a surplus of each.

The fancier decks haven't gone to backers yet (tuck box printing issues) shouldn't be too much longer they said last week they expected to have them likely late this week in hand.

But again first I would expect to see them shipped to backers before going up on the site.

Thanks Evilgamer - yes that’s right. I’m told the Luxe and Special edition decks have landed and fulfilment on orders containing these editions should start real soon. Once KS orders are dispatched, the remaining decks/wallets/tags will be available through X-Decks. I’ll post here when we have a date for retail.

As I’m in Australia, I’ve seen samples and proofs of separate elements of the project and X-Decks have been doing quality control - but am yet to see all the pieces combined - so I’m excited to receive mine too! Love to hear what people think once they have the decks in hand.

Got mine today these are...decent. The foiling is a bit subtle, I didnt open the more rare /52 deck but the gilded deck has a good bit of what looks like smudging on the mostly at the top gilding (keep in mind this deck was shrink wrapped so its not likely from rubbing the tuck.

note to anyone who is preferential for it that the "seal" isnt real its just printed foil on the lid and front.

Thanks Evilgamer. Is the smudging bad? Would love to see a photo. We are in the middle of selecting printers for our next deck. Given the issues we had with the tuckbox printer last time we are choosing carefully, so keen to be aware of any issues, large or small.

And thanks re the “seal”. It was a bit of an experiment to recreate the look of a top seal without the cutting part. Turned out pretty convincing I think.

Pretty bad, may be wear you can actually see kind of the "V' of the shrink wrap on the top.

I already emailed x-decks, its on the top and bottom and at least one side

Thanks for those pics. Very helpful to see and yeah, that is pretty bad. No idea what might have caused it. Maybe the heat of the shrink wrapping melted the gilding. Hopefully it’s a rare instance. Glad to hear you've contacted X-Decks already.
