Room One definitely has their formula down now and they seem to be great at licensing.
Their decks continue to not appeal to me too much but I have nothing to complain about otherwise. The art on this one is very Riffle Shuffle-esque.

I was lucky enough to meet Marco and Candace at the 52+Joker convention. Their passion for creating is impossible to miss. It was nice to put a face to what was just another company making cards. Not all editions appeal to me, so I am in for a deck and the coin. I am happy to support RoomOne and I look forward to their future projects!

I think the execution of the ideas behind the deck look great. But the theme of the deck isn't something I care much about. Still fun to see what creatives come up with.

As a fan of the Assassin's Creed series, I think these are VERY well done. The Hidden Blade tuck in particular is ingenious. None of their previous decks really captured me, but this one definitely does.

Yes, we do have our own stocks and finishes. There are three in total for now. The 300gsm from Germany, 270gsm from Japan, and 290gsm from China. We tried to use different stocks in different projects so people can try which one is their favorite stock to use. The easiest way to try all is by having our Roots Standard series. If you are going to join some conventions like 52+J or jamming like the upcoming MegaJam in Singapore, we will also open all the decks for people to try.

we may add it as a Stretch Goal feature for the Signature Edition. We also want to do foil with this project, let's see
But all the Samurai Otter had multi-color foil on the face & back. ( It's also very popular in the 52+J convention )

Samurai otter is the one bloom deck I dont have.
And again dont get me wrong, I really like what Bloom has done with their cards, I like high art cards especially when everything makes a single image, its just...Im buying so many cards that it's time to get a little more picky.
For now I can settle for at least buying gilded decks.
Im a bit of a sucker for AC stuff..though the game series is currently...a bit controversial with the next few releases...so I wonder how thats going to affect this campaign which seems squarely using art around the first few games.
As for the stock question I pulled that deck out of the box I put it in, and what else was in that box but pretty much all the other Chinese printers except WJPC (Jack Brutus's recent decks from legends, the KWP maduro from their printer and Agni from kingstar).
Ive said before sometimes I think Room one is just someone printing stuff at kingstar at night and feeling the Agni deck and the bloom decks one after another I can still go with that theory
I think I prefer the KWP deck with the legends deck being the least good feeling to me but theres nothing wrong with room ones card stock, I have their recent Blackbeard decks (and they owe me the prize deck..though something goofed the state on the order, haven't gotten a response from CS to see if its even been sent).

I added the White Signature deck to my Hanging Gardens of Babylon pledge along with several other decks I had not supported originally. When I received my rewards, after a few days I opened it and noticed this deck had not been included. I sent them a message asking about it. When they replied, they stated that the deck was sold out and offered me not a refund but a discount coupon for their store. Poor inventory control on their end but what really bothers me is that they never reached out ahead of time to tell me. Were they hoping I would not notice?
Definitely think twice about supporting any of their future projects.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. There seems to be a misunderstanding or error on our end, I’ll personally follow up with our customer service team to investigate what happened with your White Signature deck. Typically, we offer our backers a choice between a refund or unconditional membership points in situations like this. I’ll ensure we get to the bottom of this and provide you with a fair resolution promptly. Thank you for your patience, and I’ll keep you updated.
Regarding inventory management, we implemented significant upgrades following the Assassin's Creed playing cards campaign to ensure better tracking and fulfillment accuracy.

The most recent game featured two main characters, a woman and a black man. Certain types of gamers reacted in an unfortunately now predictable way.

I knew that question would come up and let me see if I can do this without causing more controversy.....
For years and years and years AC fans have wanted an AC game set in Japan..just makes sense right? a series game where the main form of combat is sword fighting and being stealthy in a country known for its swords and sneaky warriors? Especially after Sony released Ghost of Tsushima during 2020 that was basically AC done well in Japan (theres a tangent Im not going down on the moment with that series...)
So they finally released one, "Assassin's Creed shadows" set in the period in Japan Nobu Obunaga was around. And the main protagonist...is a Black man with a Carribean accent, who basically cant even do Assassin stuff...he's just a big brute(though they used someone who historically really did exist as a start..though its not really agreed what role he really played, i.e. was he really a samurai or just a curiosity for Nobunaga) With all the historical characters or even fictional ones they could have used for a main character...thats where they landed. Now there was a second protagonist, a Japanese female shinobi/Ninja (not really historically a thing women did but hey....pretty much everyone went along with it). And them proceeded to make every marketing blunder in the book, they released a statue of the male protagonist standing on a half Tori gate...a symbol of the atomic bombings in modern Japan. They released video of said main protagonist ransacking Japanese shrines and killing unarmed women, it was handled badly and the game ultimately took a decent delay to make some changes to address some of the issues (and bugs..which was a good thing).
Bottom line it didnt go well, the game (I played it) was...ok...but its the worst selling entry in the series of recent times and contributed heavily to Ubisoft the publisher selling much of its value to the Chinese shortly after it released...In fact they stopped trading their stock yesterday and didnt release their quarterly financials as they planned(reasons unknown but not the sign of a healthy company, AC shadows was their big financial tentpole for the year).
Bottom line the future of the franchise is...unknown..we have a pretty good idea of what the next game might be (European witch trials) but not when to expect it and some of the ideas for future games have reportedly been scrapped.

yes and again at the risk of starting a back and forth here that I dont think the mods want to see...that inference ignores that the very first game in the series as well as the entry before this one... and the one they used to "soft reboot" the series all starred Middle eastern protagonists. That most of the recent entries have had female protagonists as either a choice, sometimes the cannon one, or as a co-protagonist (syndicate). And there was little to no controversy because it made sense in those games. Again there are deeper discussions here than just "lol they didnt want to see those people be the main character" that arent likely a discussion point to get to the core of WHY people reacted the way they did. Again, I played AC Shadows...on release.

Ah, the adage "Your other die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain" certainly reigns true here. I appreciate the insight.

Im not really looking to get into a back and forth of this sort here because your comments are valid. But I've also played the game ( big fan of the franchise, especially the last 4 games). This entry wasnt as fun for me as the previous 3, but still fun. Having said that, the reaction to the game, was absolutely heavily influenced by the sort of misogynist, bigoted gamer I mentioned who've been getting more and more brazen as time goes by. They reacted similarly to the previous games that had female characters. They were very very pissy about Odyssey's female character option. Ubisoft made some small missteps in the lead up to this game, but the negativity far outweighed their infractions. For which there is only one very obvious explanation.

Wow, thanks for the game insights, EvilGamer
Definitely agree that there was a big backlash when AC was set in Japan and the protagonist is a black man.
Although this deck series doesn't cover up until the Japan one, I believe

Thank you for the detailed comment and explanation and I appreciate you sharing your perspective.
As a fellow gamer (and longtime Assassin's Creed fan since the first one on PS3), I completely get the frustration around Shadows and its handling. I'll tread carefully here to avoid stirring things up or risking our relationships with publishers. But that's precisely why we approached our Legacy deck with such respect for the franchise.
We deliberately avoided characters without that emotional connection—instead, focusing on iconic ones for the court cards that true fans resonate with. It's all about honoring what makes AC special.
Thanks again!

I can appreciate the delicacy of working with a rights holder, Ive seen KWP mention some very trivial thing they've been asked to do with the LOTR property for example. Especially when you are trying to find 12 characters to use as courts. My perspective boils down to "I want a good game" nothing more, nothing less. (though I am more of a fan of the original game combat mechanics than the current ones, Black flag remains my favorite of the series).
Unsurprisingly Im all in on the V2 campaign.
