Okay, in the hopes that lightning will strike twice (thank you @GandalfPC for helping with one grail deck!), I'm wondering if anyone has a copy of Emmanuel Jose's Delicious or Clipped Wings decks that they're willing to sell? Please, please, pretty please?

Watch out for fake copies on eBay of Jose's decks -- they're common in a way I haven't experienced with any other decks, ever

Thanks for the warning. Is there any sort of proof I can ask from a seller to authenticate a deck?

Those two decks a bit tougher to come by from what I see - April of last year was when I show them on eBay last

I actually have a copy of one of his counterfeits and an original. I can post a picture, if only I could find them. I will say the counterfeit one I have is much thicker than the original. Might be tough to tell that from a picture though. They also could use a picture of the original but send a counterfeit.

It sounds like all we need are good thickness measurements of verified decks - grab your calipers and post your measurements

And here I thought I only had to worry about counterfeit tarot decks. At least those are easy to spot since fake decks usually use a QR code for guidebooks so if you see a QR code on the box, you run for the hills. Are there any similar tell-tale signs for playing cards? Besides thickness of cards, that is.

I haven’t seen much in the way of counterfeits outside tarot (where it is everywhere) - I would imagine like tarot any fakes suffer in tuck and card stock.

Got a brick of bees that were comically faked a few centuries back - like toy versions of cards.

Would be interested to hear what others have come across

I've never come across counterfeit decks at all aside from these, actually -- at least not that I'm aware of
