I want to like it...I really want to like it...but it feels so lazy. Interested to see how the cards will look.
I'll probably still buy a pair as I love what Chris Ramsay does in the community and knew of him before I got into collecting.

This is not official - just simply a thought on how it would look like, based on previous decks

To be honest, the whackiness of the above draft would make me want a deck of these, haha.

i know he is a magician and bikes are classics so understand the desire and choice of this collab but that just looks awful.

Keep in mind it's just a render made by a fan.

Assuming the courts are standard, this deck will surely hold the record for the least customized "custom" deck of cards, right?
We should add Razzies to the DotY proceedings.

Anyone know the price on these? I'm expecting something to make me spit my coffee.

Chris never had spill your coffee prices - well, maybe for his uncut sheets. The gilded V5s are $30 at his shop and the standard V5 (diffeaction foil) are $20. The V4s that have no foil are $10. So I'd expect these somewhere at the $16-ish. Which is still a lot for Bikes but hey, Yeezys and a fancy hipster apartment don't come cheap. That man has to pay rent like all of us.

Why’d they have to go and ruin some perfectly good Rider Backs?

To be fair: the Rider Back design is still there?
And it is priced for 15$ each, either Red or Blue
Let’s just say…. This is an inflated ordinary Bike, because “1ST” is all over the deck

If you watch the video and consider this as more of Chris Ramsay accomplishing a profound feat by being able to create this deck collaboration, then it's rather impressive. If you viewed this in the lens of wanting it to be some luxurious or artistic deck of some sort, then yes, you will be very disappointed.
He does mention that in hindsight he would've loved to manipulate the card backs further, but there is a lot legally that he was advised on that pointed to it not being the best decision.

What is profound about this collaboration? Seems pretty ordinary to me.

Aside from magic and gaff decks, apparently Bicycle has not done a collaboration on their riderbacks in this manner since with NASA decades ago in the 70s. I would be shocked if Chris Ramsay wasn't accurate in this claim.
Here is the UC thread for that deck:

In comparison of this collab deck with 1ST X Bicycle, this NASA's Meatball logo covers more than Chris Ramsay's broken border strip logo. We can pretty much see more of the Rider back design on the 1ST collab than the NASA one

This was made in 2010…though probably not an official collaboration with Bicycle, it is an altered Rider Back with just a logo slapped on top of it…

exactly what CR's deck is. i think if shit decks like Fontaines and anyone get slammed for their no/low effort this one has to be added to the list. as much as i hate those 2 brands, they are more effort than this mess.

How is the Kaws deck not an official collaboration with Bicycle @sherm?

It depends on how you look at it, I guess.
With the KAWS deck, I would imagine that it was KAWS that approached Bicycle to make their decks and worked with the custom playing card department. It is a collaboration between KAWS and Bicycle, but it was probably KAWS that initiated the collaboration.
In this case (1st/Bicycle), I assume that Bicycle reached out to Chris Ramsey for the collaboration as opposed to the other way around, but I don't know cause I don't follow Chris Ramsey or care for this deck in anyway and thus don't care how it came about.

If I watched his latest video correctly, well the design is Chris Ramsay’s idea, in which he put his iconic broken border logo on the back and the logo stamp on the Ace of Spades. At first, the design was rejected by the legal team. Six months later, the legal team want to discuss about the design again, and since Ramsay doesn’t want any more changes, got rejected again. It was at CardCon, where Chris have a chat with the CEO of Cartamundi and USPCC. After that meet, USPCC contact him to say: “Okay, let’s do it”

With the recent collabs decks such as KWP and Orbit Tallys and now 1st; one hopes that this will lead to USPCC allowing more customization on their Rider backs and Tallys. If that does happen, we'll have CR to thank for that. The signs do look more positive with USPCC now initiating the collabs.

At least the 1st is back to his first "version" of his 1st decks. The newer 1st design is shit in my opinion.

Anyone got their tracking info yet? Taking unusually long for AoP. I guess there are a lot of orders to process...
