Then wait for the "inspected by edition", lol.
And/or the tuck swap that will come five times the price.

I was on board until I saw this. Just seems an extremely odd choice for Joker artwork. Not sure how it makes me feel, tbh...

If I remember correctly Brad mentioned in a preview on his instagram that it is supposed to be Houdini.

yeah, i saw that. Just couldn't get around the whole crucifixion reference. I mean, of all positions to put Houdini in....

I find the art direction for this deck gone terribly wrong!
Like, what does Houdini has to do with a cross? Sure, Houdini died right on 31 October, so it could be relevant, but does the cross is necessary? And what does Benuel and Orson Welles and Juan Luis has to do with the holiday anyway? Sure, they are people that matters for Fulton personally, yet do they have to be there? And that octopus and Salvador Dali's melting clock definitely doesn't help out either?
So in the bigger picture, with all those random references in the artwork, does that all justifies that the deck is called "Day of the Dead" while there are HARDLY NO references to the holiday itself? Fulton might have worked hard and have fun with this deck, but this is simply him being disrespectful to the long aged Mexican's tradition
In the end, Fulton has become another hype brand itself, and no matter how controversial this deck is, there are people would still get it...

If I would get a penny for everytime someone is offended on behalf of another culture, I would have that much money that I would even waste it on Brad's fake Artist Proofs (props for kasuma99 for calling it

).

The only art direction I have a problem with in this deck is the GD standard courts. Generally, if you don't have time for custom courts I don't have time to buy your deck.
I don't know if I would consider Fulton as a hype brand, but possibly if your definition of a hype brand is that they are seemingly popular with no real design to them. same logos in different colors over and over. Low effort designs with low effort standard courts. The only measurable amount of actual design being in the October and Chinatown decks. For the tucks and backs at least. One of the October decks having custom courts. The rest though, same $#!%, different color. Hmmmm, maybe it is a hype brand lol.

So what's the difference between the AP and Standard editions (besides price)?

If this is like his past releases, the AP will be a signed version of the standard edition with a custom numbered seal. As far as I know, the cards and tuckbox are the exact same.

Yup, as always just the seal and skribble on the tuck.

Only 99 of these were made. Halfway to Halloween. Gilded in Pumpkin Orange Metallic Foil.
I still haven't grabbed a regular Day of the Dead deck and this is tempting, but I'm sure it'll be overpriced

$52 at minimum since, he loves that price tag. But with only 99 made, I'd say we are in three digits county for them.
Edit: $59 confirmed. They'll be sniffed in a second.

Fulton's Day of the Dead (Gilded Afterlife Edition), $59.00
Day of the Dead. One of the most fantastical concepts in playing card history—the back design is a celebration of the hereafter, and family history.
Produced in collaboration with Obed Islas, and illustrated by the legendary Jeff Trish.
Only 100 Orange Gilded Day of the Dead Will Exist. This extremely limited edition is complete with the “B Fulton Manufacturer Seal” which signifies this is an official FULTONS Limited Gilded Deck.
Jack O’Lantern Orange Gild. Halfway to Halloween.

The word used was actually fantastical which has a different meaning;
strange and wonderful, like something out of a story
or
so strange or extreme that it does not seem to be true or reasonable
In the second definition, I woud think that a fair amount of people think that Brad himself is quite fantastical.

That image does look great in tan. I am not into Halloween and skulls etc but if that was the card back, I would be buying. I see it was part of last year's deck (as an extra?)

I actually love the art in this deck. I do wish it had custom courts though.
Release October 11th. Gilded. 500 made. It'll probably be priced at his usual $52, which I will skip.

Yeah let that man keeps on pricing $52 for just a tuckbox change and $65 for gilded deck
Good on you for skipping, that way to not feed his ego
