Rattler Gorge by The Card Guy (designed by DeckIdea)

Hey there! I'm proud to announce my first ever deck of cards! Rattler Gorge is - in keeping with the decks that I love - a character driven deck set in the Old West and is planned to launch on Kickstarter on July 27!

And the tuck case evokes the highlight of any western town - the saloon. It comes complete with the classic swinging doors that actually work thanks to strategic cutouts in the tuck. It comes in two colorways - Desert Dust Edition (brown + gold) and Noir (grey/black + silver).

I was proud to get a chance to work on this project with Jason over at DeckIdea. If you've seen his other work, you know what a talented and creative designer he is!

I like the tuck and I like the back. Interesting to have the diamond pip on its side, want to see how the number cards look with that design choice.

The court cards though, wow there is a lot of white on them. King of Clubs is just about blinding me. The more I look the more they just don't work for me.

Thanks for that feedback. I will say in hand they don't look quite as "white" as maybe they do here. The intent is that the metallic inks will brighten up the overall look some. That said, will definitely give it a closer look!

Oh, and the diamond pip you see there is actually different than the larger ones used on the spot cards. More to come there!

I do like the theme and how that played out in the suits and court cards. I am not sure how to take the Snake Oil Salesman and the Priest being in the same suit though. An interesting choice...

The suggestion of a bit more color on some of the court cards is not a bad suggestion to consider.

The tuck design is definitely something I haven't seen done before and is a nice touch that fits the theme.

Are you somehow implying that the salesman is less than trustworthy??

not a big wild west fan but i do like the tuck design. i am also not a fan of all of the court bodies basically being just rectangles. i like the court design other than the rectangle bodies though. perhaps it will grow on me. i would likely get only one deck if at all. i think the days are long gone for me for getting multiple color tucks with the same card designs inside.

I like the Wild West theme. The tuck box design is a neat idea which I like for the neat idea's sake but overall I'm not excited about it to be honest. Same with the back design. A little to 2D for me, if that makes sense.
I was going over the courts for quite some times and have the some verdict like Jason above; I like the style and the details of the characters a lot, but the bodies and on some cards the way the arms are (due to this almost square body shape) don't resonate well with me.
Snake oil salesman and priest same suit - well, I for my part, see a connection there 😃.

I can respect that. Definitely trying to keep the color variations down some on this deck, so I don't think you'll be seeing versions 3, 4 and 5 coming out mid-campaign!

Thanks for the feedback! I get what you mean with the more 2d art style for sure. Hope you enjoyed the characters, though! I love character driven decks, so I can assure you that every character has a name and a little backstory to be added in the campaign!

I'm in this one for the tuck. And it is supported by Jason at Deckidea, so that's a plus.

Thanks for letting me know it is live. As usual, I am slow on the draw as backer #113. Still, I did rake in my preferred EB tier so all is good in the end. I'll hold pat on my hand.

Thank you! That first day launch was something else, but I'm so glad this project has been well received! And for any followers of the campaign, gilded decks are being added today. Hopefully the two waves (one at 12:30PM EST and a second at 10:30PM EST) will keep it friendly for international backers.

Much appreciation to UC for the support!

And random mini-plug. Everyone who's not already should go back Shogun.

Looking forward to getting mine. I haven't received a tracking number yet, and you've already received the decks themselves. AS USUAL, I might add.

Gah!!!
