Saw this on Rubylane being listed by, you guessed it, Two For His Heels. He writes:
There is also a bunch of information about the designer.Wonderful and extremely rare deck, maker unknown, published by NBC Television Network, and distributed to its advertisers. It included extra cards extolling the strength of NBC’s daytime programs, and was not intended for the public. However, the Joker and court cards were designed by the famous Edward Sorel, and it is unusual to find a deck with artwork by such a prominent artist that has escaped notice to the extent that this one has. The deck also has a beautiful and unique Ace of Spades, but I am not sure whether Sorel had anything to do with its design.
The deck has 52 suited cards, plus 1 Joker, plus 2 extra cards with information about NBC’s daytime television lineup. I don’t know if the deck ever had a second Joker. Because it was not intended for public distribution, but rather to be an advertising vehicle, it is possible that a second Joker was never included. However, in 1960 it would have been unusual for a deck to be made with only 1 joker. The cards are wide, measuring 88mm x 63mm, and come in the original box.
The cards are in excellent condition, “as new” or nearly so. The box is in very good to excellent condition, with slight residue of old glue on one panel and modest wear.
Listing is here for a 100 USD. I have never seen this deck before, so I am assuming it is at least somewhat rare.
All the pictures I put on this message are by Two For His Heels from the listing.
