In Session Playing Cards: Freshman Year - Kickstarter 8/8

Hey all.

I have a deck coming out in a few weeks and thought I would post it here to see what people here thought of it. I have been getting a pretty good response to it so far...which lead me to bunker down and get it done. Printed some prototypes and made my own tuck (MPC is too expensive). Those prototypes are out in the hand of some people to show them off and promote.

Basic theme is a tribute to the old peechee school folders and cardistry. Will be printed with USPCC on the classic bike stock, traditional cut. The faces are recolored to match the back design colors. The courts are slightly modified (as you can see). Gamblers Warehouse doing the fulfillment. More information as I get closer to launch.

Any way, let me know what you think and I would be glad to answer any questions.

Danny

EDIT: Now live!

Is that the card back I see?

Cool and well executed theme. Those are among the better modified standard courts I've seen. Agreed on the AoS being a nice touch, though with the lines it might be spottable in a stack (from the side), making it a marked card. The back design, if that's it next to the AoS, I don't like at all. Blatantly one-way, the sketches of flourishes seem out of place, and the lines could have been utilized much better to produce effects when fanning. And a dot that's off-center seems both non-traditional and non-functional, I doubt twirls will look good with that.

Sorry for being brutally honest. If it helps, I only critique designs I see potential in :)

Twirls not that much indeed but it works perfect for isolations. The perfect spot for an off-center dot however, is unfortunately already released in two different edition.

Not a fan of that back design either +1 to what Magik wrote. Solid feedback.

I appreciate the feedback for sure. No one is going to like every single deck that people put out, and that is totally okay with me. And being brutally honest works when you are not an ass about (which you weren't so thank you!)

I went back and forth on alot on the back design (borders, moving the circle, ect) and none hit the vision i was going for..which is as close to the peechee folder back as I could get. That is why it has to be one way and the border didn't look right to me.

All suits being the same color doesn't work for me, at all.

Not to be rude, but the suits are not the same color. The diamonds and Hearts are light in color and the Spades and Clubs are much darker. I don't mind taking 'harsh criticism', but would like it if people took the time to look at the photos instead of just breeze right by them.

Depends on your working definition of the word of course but yah, Capra is right, they are the same colour (yellow) just different gradients.

They're all the same color. Different shades, I'll give you that, but my criticism is correct.

About 9 days in and sitting at about 70% funded. Not too shabby.

I changed my mind and meant to cancel my pledge, but forgot.
If anyone missed out and would like a deck, please let me know and I can send your address in the survey instead of mine.
One EB deck $10 + $5 shipping(US) = $15

Thanks.
