KWP Gary Don "Pops"

This is one I couldn't resist. I grew up in West Texas (farther south though, in the desert oilfields), and have kin that are indeed panhandle farmers. I've been to Hereford, and driven right past the Scott Seed Co. a few times.

"A hometown acquaintance of mine commissioned me to create this homage deck in honor of his grandfather. I think family is so important, and getting an opportunity to help a family remember someone influential and their lives is something that I love to do.

The deck honors the life of Gary Don Kriegshauser, aka "POPS" to his friends and family. Pops was a rancher and business owner in the panhandle of Texas. The deck also embodies the spirit of West Texas and the hard-working families that are its heart.

Pop's ranch was called the Seven-Up Ranch, and the brand can be seen featured in the background of the cards.
The two jokers represent two important elements of Pops' life. The Bovine specimen is a Limousine Cow, Limousine cattle was Pops' favorite type of beef livestock to raise. The chuckwagon is an illustration of Pops' very own chuckwagon that he would take out frequently at sunrise with friends and family, and cook them sunrise breakfasts on the open range."

You can't go wrong with this deck. I love the colour palette and KWPs vintage courts. I personally prefer Edred the Gizard over this one but Pops is still a great deck, imo.

There are 350 still available. I like it and did get three. However, at $20 each plus shipping, that does get a bit steep IMHO.

I guess due to the low number. Small print run = higher cost per deck. So I can understand it from the business side but yah, I'm not that fond on the price either. Foiled tuck + but the rest is, if I might borrow Eric's acronym, a JAB job :?
A beautiful one; love the colour sheme, but still.

The price is higher than most comparable KWP decks, I basically wrote this off as due to being a commissioned deck. Probably not for everyone, but I have a personal connection so a little extra is no biggie in this case.
