[brownsl] My Collection

After collecting for about 16 months I have been going through my decks and trying to organize them and enter them into Portfolio 52. I thought it would be a good time to start a thread for my collection. As I do this I thought I would put photos of them in this thread.

First off, here are my Thirdway decks. The highlight of these is being able to get 4 Omnia Suprema decks, 2 unsealed, 2 numbered. I ended up with 15 Evil decks as I found a really good bulk deal on them. Looking for a Delirium Signature Edition if anyone knows where to get one. I think that is the only one I am missing.

Here are my Steve Minty decks. I really like the Anubis/Osiris decks and the Thorns & Roses special decks. I wish I could get more of his limited decks.

UUSI decks. Their tarot decks pushed me down the slippery slope of collecting interesting looking tarot decks.

That's a pretty nice collection.

Runit Decks have a signed Olympia Underworld available if you're interested.

Where is the add to cart-button? :D
Nice Collection. Correct me if I'm wrong but that's not all of it, right?

That is right, this is just the beginning. I will try to get my Stockholm 17, Kings Wild, and Lotrek decks tonight. Every night I am going to try to get more photos.

I will save you the trouble of reposting your Venice Simplon Orient Express (VSOE) Collection, which is also extraordinary.

Here are my Lotrek decks. I have spent by far the most on his decks and I still have some holes in this collection to fill in.

Thanks to UC members I was able to get a second deck for a couple of the single-deck-only purchases.

KWP decks, part 1 ... I lost track of some of my KWP purchases and have way too many of some of the decks.

If you don't mind me asking, why is it that you have so many of certain decks? Are you a serial card player? Re-seller? Wealthy friend of a fellow collector?

Good question, certainly not a logical reason for it.

The decks I have missed out on that I really like, for some reason I try to get 4 decks. For great decks that I am able to get in on during the KS project or at initial release, sometimes I will get 6 decks.

For some of the decks in which I have a large quantity, I was able to get a bulk purchase at a very good price, so I did it thinking I can always set/trade some later.

For a lot of the KWP decks in which I have a lot of them, often it is because I lost track of how many I bought and ended up with too many. I am currently trying to get everything into P52 and track my purchases better. I like KWP decks but there are so many of them.

I figure I can trade or sell some of my excess decks.

A man after my own heart. One is not enough and often two is not enough! Four of each starts calming the beast inside.

I remember being in the midst of the budget breaking effort of getting missed Lotrek decks when I got the opportunity to purchase 4 Platinum Ambassador decks at the initial offering (first limited to two decks, then the didn't sell out in the first hour (I think) so we were allowed to purchase two more of the remaining), which led me to get a full set of 4 for that series, and a few extras (because why not?). Thus began the journey to the dark side. It happens to collectors.

BTW, all of those sets are really impressive.

Man, that middle Valley Forge deck really ought to be signed in the same color as the stars, like the decks on either side

I am an engineer. Certainly, not a career in which I should be spending this amount on playing cards. I have fully embraced the dark side. Every time I tell myself I am going to rein in the spending some, it does not last long.

I have other things I collect but none of them has sunk in their talons quite like this hobby.

Bah, you do you, man. If it makes you happy, who cares? :D The upside with spending as much as you have is that you can probably (should you need to) recoup a lot (if not most) of it by selling the rare ones. I've spent my fair share of money, but buying singles that I open doesn't put me in a position to recoup much at all, if any.

I will be posting my 2019 KWP Subscription and related decks soon. Actually, I have still two more small pieces for that set, but I am probably going to take it anyway.

My whole collection though  that truly does scare me.

I am still trying to find my three Ramsey 1st decks. I have been hunting for them for like a year now without success. I am sure they are around...somewhere.
