Friendly reminder to package well

Unread post by Daisho »

You never know if a postal carrier's parents were murdered by a deck of a cards or something...

Not just cards, but here is how I received a puzzle from Scam Stuff once. In fairness, it did make it much easier to solve...

I even keep a tracker at work in regards to this issue:

Has anyone else had issues like this?

Henry at Socal Playing Cards just did a live this afternoon. He ordered a dozen or so cards from an undisclosed seller and they were stacked two-high in a bubble mailer. They were not cheap cards: the new Anyone Dots, Fontaine Cycles, etc. It looked like ALL of them were damaged, some severely. Basically, he has to take a hit and sell them as damaged decks.

Long story short: please don't mail decks that are loose in just a bubble mailer. Sorry to see the damage to your cards as well!

EDIT: At least you have a light-hearted response to the whole situation. I would be livid.

This should be in the Rogue's Gallery thread as well. Great attitude indeed. Mastering being a stoic I guess. Dunno what's wrong with some carriers. That picture with the single deck - I had no clue a packaged deck can be warped like that. How much force do you have to apply that it end up like this? :? :(

I had a parcel just dropped at my door... in autumn... in rainy Germany. I can tell you soaking wet cardboard is very easy to open. Luckily the deck of cards was wrapped well in bubble wrap + the cellophane so the humidity didn't make it to the deck. Other than that I had - fingers crossed - never an issue with my parcels.

Friendly reminder to package well

You'd think this was common sense but apparently not. I've mentioned before that I sold 24 decks recently and packaged them nice and tight in a cut-down cardboard box; when my brother got to the post office he decided to save me Β£5 postage by ripping the box open and putting 12 decks each in two padded envelopes with no extra protection. The buyer was understandably annoyed and disappointed and I ended up refunding him Β£90. All I got from my brother was: "Oh, sorry."

I hid his body well.

Creepy story... regarding the shipping. You handled it like a pro though @Timmargh. If you ever need help hidding bodies of folks that send decks unprotected just gimme a call. :D

I haven't posted here in awhile, and that's a shame. I'll start this one off light:
Image

Here's a strange one. There was a cardboard shell around the deck, and there was no ripping to the shell or bubble mailer, but somehow the deck inside was damaged:

The e-Bay seller was trustworthy, and given my post office's penchant for this matter, I find it easier to believe they came up with a new way to damage the deck.

And of course, this again. Not as bad as the Name of the Wind above, but still:

I didn't get a picture of this, but I was delivered a completely empty bubble mailer a few weeks ago. The top was completely ripped off, and I guess the deck fell out. God bless the carrier, he still delivered me that empty package.

Finally, I live in an apartment complex with several "cluster-unit" mailboxes. And here is mine, which the carrier left completely open, all night:

This might be the creepiest thread on whole UC.
I got this a while ago (pic below). Luckily it was all packaged well and nothing fell out.
