Hi Everyone,
We are launching a new project called INFINITUM playing cards next week and would like any feedback you have!
This will be our first project with USPCC printing:
-
Intricate foil + embossing to the box exterior (2 colors of foil if stretch goal is reached).
-
Beautiful illustrations with subtle detail on every card.
-
Metallic inks on select card faces if stretch goal is reached.
-
Fully Custom designs.
-
Unique themed suits in the Infinitum style.
-
Printed by USPCC on their acclaimed classic crushed stock.
The plan is to launch on Tuesday 28th Jan on Kickstarter. The preview link is here:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/el ... n=0aeca089" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Thanks!
Ben

I have to admit that I have not been happy with decks from this company in the past mainly due to the quality of the cards. Also, when I contacted them about the punched out holes being defective on the gilded Elephant Nigh deck they were dismissive and told be to just poke the holes out myself. Kinda hard since I leave em sealed!
However, these look really good and I'm happy to see they moved to a more reputable playing card manufacturer. I know this theme has been kind of done to death but I never get tired of skulls on my cards. That royal blue deck looks very nice indeed. I just hope there is an upgrade in customer service as well as the card quality.

I agree. Can never have too many skulls. I love the looks of the decks and I am a sucker for non-white vivid colored cards. I will have to add these to my collection for sure.

The 3 deck EB is about $13 per deck, shipped. From USPCC? YUP. I'll be there. I'm excited for an EPC deck printed with USPCC! I hope the stretch goals are reached.

Just looked over the preview. I like it. I think if you added stretch goals to include a custom brick box for brick-backers as well as maybe a carat case for set-collectors this would go through the roof.

Dunno about this deck... The art work in general is kinda rough for my liking. It could use some refinement. What makes this a clear pass though, is the choosen colour scheme.
Bad choice imo. All three kings are identical in their colour and just dragged and dropped over a different back ground colour.

Not quite - there is a bit of shipping on top of that (but less than the avg KS project adds). Going with USPCC precludes the possibility of free shipping at a reasonable price deck. The quote I got from USPCC was 3x WJPC

I'm looking into that now. A brick box would be awesome!

I kept the red consistent between the Kings you noted because they are red kings and I think that the primary colors should assist visual recognition of the suits for playability. But the metallic inks and highlight details change between sets.

I would have to see the other court cards and aces I think. I would probably be down for the white and the black decks but that blue and yellow? Especially when you throw red in with it. I'll have to see when it launches.

I actually like the blue deck with red and yellow...its the white deck that looks a little dull to me...maybe if the silver lines on the skeleton were black, it would pop more, but at the moment, it is hard to see the definition. Nevertheless, I like the artwork and the tucks look amazing, especially the blue and yellow.

Yep, it's all personal preference and taste and what makes having such a variety of decks out there so great. There is something for everyone.

I have updated the project page with a bunch more images; there should be plenty now!

I believe the metallic inks on the white version will make it a bit clearer than the renders show - the silver metallic inks are a bit darker than the digital light grey shown.

I really got to thinking, what other decks have BLUE cards? The only one I can think of are those gorgeous Olympians underworld ones by Steve Minty.

Without verifying, I think there is a Gio deck or 2 with blue cards.

When I first saw the blue deck I thought of Osiris.

Yea, when I saw the pictures I honed in on the blue-faced cards and it didn't matter that I disliked the white ones....the blues one more than made up for it.

Omnia Perduta have a green card - but I don't think I've ever made a blue background deck. Should I do it?

I like the black deck, I love the blue deck, but the white one looks terrible, with the artwork not benefitting at all from the white backgrounds, and the foiling looks lost. I'm interested, but again the company did not even acknowledge my critique of their customer service when I had issues with them, nor did they on this very thread. I guess if they ignore it, the issue doesn't exist or maybe I will just go away. Sometimes I wonder...

Thanks everyone for the feedback; the KS page has been improved with more comprehensive stretch goals, a sweet custom brick box and a few other goodies - you should check it out.
Just a reminder that we will be launching this project tomorrow morning, with Earlybird discounts for the first 24 hours.
Tuesday January 28, 9am EST / 6am PST
I look forward to seeing you there!

This thread is for the Infinitum project. The EPC project finished
years ago; if you are unhappy with how things were resolve, then there are quite a few ways to contact me (email, the KS project page), but this is the first I have heard of this project in years. If it is still an issue, send me an email.

So this project needs to hit $66,000 AUD ($45,000 USD) for the Royal blue deck to be printed. I'm currently in for the 3 deck EB but will have to drop it at the end if the blue deck doesn't fund. Let's hope it does! Only a 2 week project though... I'm doubtful.

Yes, unfortunately. I got the final quote from USPCC after some negotiation 6 hours before the project launched and had to make some last minute quick adjustments to avoid going broke if the project funded.
I know there is a disposition away from WJPC et al in the community (with good quality reasons), but USPCC quoted me more than 3x WJPC. It was a bit unexpected to say the least.

I like the blue deck.
But $20 (Early bird pricing plus shipping) is just too much for a kickstarter deck. (Pretty sure I paid less than that for a House of the Rising Spade Cartomancer deck, which is a super nice deck.)

I completely understand- I don't want to drop my pledge. I just hope this campaign does well!

Yes, it is a bit expensive, but the quote I got from USPCC demands it unfortunately.
In the interest of transparency:
- 2500 decks with 2 color foil, embossing + 1 color metallic ink from USPCC: $8.26/deck
- Shipping for 1 deck: $3.35 or $5.35
- Fulfilment for 1 deck: $1.6
- Kickstarter / Stripe fee: $1.24
TOTAL: $14.45 shipped. That leaves $5.5/deck for promotion.
While that might sound like a lot, if the project funds but I don't reach 2500 decks sold, I will have to cover the balance myself; playing with USPCC has a high cost.
