Anyone here love the movie Love Actually? This deck title made me think of Aurelia, who was Colin Firth's love interest.

Anyway, I love the elegant tuck on these. The cards are well-done, though too close to standard for me. Thanks for sharing this one, Vasta

Monochrome decks just look so bland to me, even in gold

I kinda like it! I appreciate the somewhat custom courts, although I'm not sure about the red pips losing their color.

Is this the second version of Aurelian or did I miss one? I prefer this white tuck to the first version

Did they steal this from Theory11 or something?
Also, seriously, Ellusionist?
Use your words. They look like they
might be cold foiled (look at those red pips!) but we'll never know for sure...

For $10, cold foil is not likely. But hey, maybe the spirit is moving them to be generous to all of us!

Always remember, these are promo pictures. Plus, they are promo pictures from Ellusionist!
As Brendt00 stated for the price more unlikely. I would say metallic inks at best.

IIRC, the 1st Aurelian deck's inks were similar to Eva's. They shine like foil. This is one of the very few Ellusionist designs that aren't complete trash from the last 4-5 years. I'm done with E, though, so I will pass by default.

This is how I view the history of E:
The Genesis - They started the custom playing card era with their OG decks: Black Tiger, Black/White Ghost, Viper, 1800, and Shadow Master decks, which are basically black or inverted versions of Bicycles staple Rider Back and Tally Ho decks, but revolutionary at the time. And they gave us god's gift to cardistry, the Ohio casino grade Bee stock with UV500 finish.
The Golden Age - They evolved from the Rider Back/Tally Ho variants with more original custom decks like Infinity, Arcane, Artifice, Sultan, Republic, and LTD decks. You can even throw in Ignite and Fathom. Then they looked to take another exponential leap forward with the introduction of the Prohibition series.
The Dark Ages - Everything came tumbling down with E's inexplicable bromance with Daniel Madison. There were actually a few good Madison-centric decks, but E beat that dead Madison horse down to a puddle of glue. There were a few forgettable non-Madison offerings such as Knights and King Slayer as well. The only really good deck was the original Aurelian deck, which was the exception(al), rather than the rule, of this dark period.
The Present - Thankfully E finally moved on from Madison, but the next series of releases were sad, clip-art level "custom" decks such as the Keeper, Talons, and Horrors decks. They quickly sunk far behind T11 and all the excellent KS decks and got deeply mired into irrelevance.
It's actually really unfortunate how far E has fallen, the custom playing card industry is better off with a major player like Ellusionist putting out worthy decks. The most recent releases have given me a little reason for hope, though. While not ground-breaking, I thought the Tinker deck was a step in the right direction with full customization and a strong and consistent theme. I really hope E is returning to decks like the Aurelian, and the White Aurelian is a welcome release even though it is a predicable re-color. I view the Aurelian decks as actual Tally Ho variations as far as the back design is concerned, and I appreciate the consistent Roman theme found throughout the deck and tuck. Since I like and am used to the Ghost decks, I don't mind the "Ghost" treatment of the spot cards. I am assuming E will come out with a major deck release in time for the holiday seasons so I am really hoping E can continue on the path back to relevance.

And Infinity is still one of my all-time favorite decks. Stands the test of time. I guess that's what "infinity" is all about, eh?

Agreed. That's a brick I don't regret buying
