Thanks, Decknowledgy!
Vanishing Inc turned out to be about $3 less after shipping, compared to PCD. $16 vs $19. Not sure how many they have but PCD states they have around 180 in stock as of 545 pacific. Cheers

The 1-way back design ruins it for me.
Otherwise, it is an interesting novelty.

I agree, wish it were two-way but a clever little twist on ordinary playing cards. Reminds me of a childhood book I had:

I was actually surprised not finding a topic about this deck in the past

We have talked about it. In another thread I even mentioned a few days ago about finding them again for sale. I missed them the first time, so am looking forward to getting one shortly.

Interesting idea, but for a flawless execution there would need to be only five cards with the hole. (Aces and Eights with a Queen kicker; with suits chosen to fit whichever lore you select to believe.
(I personally go for the Christy version -- Aces of Diamonds/Clubs, Eights of Spades/Clubs, and Queen of Hearts)

Although it would be hard to fit a bullet in a hole only 5 cards deep...

And it would become somewhat of a marked deck

I just got my deck and really love it. Not super practical, but definitely a conversation piece and with just so much cool detail from the vintage design to the blood spatters, and of course, the dang hole in the deck. After opening the deck, while the bullet inside is cool, it kind of is a pain to keep track of it and put it up when I put the deck up. All told though, a really nice custom deck that will not break the bank.

Ah so glad you finally got one! I cannot find my copy for the life of me. I ordered a couple of new ones.

Pity we don't see more interesting stuff like this anymore. Now it's all about the gilding (what is the actual term of using the process of gilding but with different substances? Painted edges?) or painted edges with shiny paint.

This is another deck that's now going for crazy prices - if anyone picked up some extras and would sell one for ~$15-20 let me know! Opened is fine
EDIT Yes I want the one with the bullet

No. 10 on the tuck, NOT No. 11

What? The restocked decks are now out and they prices are going crazy yet again? I feel like this is getting silly.

Gilding is always applying metals or foils to the edges. If you simply use ink/paint than indeed it's just called edge colouring/painting.

Nah I think the restocked decks and the reprinted are the Unharmed edition and can be found everywhere still. I'm assuming our boi's asking for a deck with a bullet hole which is sold out everywhere.

This is the most recent version, the Unharmed Edition, pretty easy to find still, several webstores have them in stock

I noticed that on Portfolio52. That is odd. I got mine on a later edition because I missed the first ones. However, mine definitely have the bullet as I opened one of the decks. I am sure they had some later edition that came out with a bullet in them. Now I am confused (Well, more confused than usually).

No.10 - Printed by EPCC with a bullet inside and without cello wrapping on a box
No.11 - Printed by Cartamundi (Unharmed Edition) without a bullet

Yeah, even this thread is a "back in stock" thread for the bullet edition

I wonder if there's any difference among EPCC versions

I remembered Vanishing INC did a remaining stock release before releasing the No.11 Unharmed Edition. Maybe that's where you got the original edition?

Perhaps. Anyway, I was glad to grab them as I missed the original edition. I wish Vanishing would reissue the original design. This is really a cool deck.

Question: When we get this original one, does it come with a cellophane? I got mine from a seller in eBay, securing two, and both come without a cellophane
But, the most important is, I get one!

I got mine directly from Vanishing then and it didn't have a cellophane as well, kinda caught me off guard but probably it's the only way to insert the lead bullet.

The OG Deadman's Deck is back in stock, the one with the bullet, but reprinted by Cartamundi:
https://www.vanishingincmagic.com/playi ... mans-deck/
This iconic, beloved deck is back! And it's now printed on amazing slimline b9 stock from Cartamundi.
Legend has it that storied cowboy and gambler Wild Bill Hickok was holding Aces and Eights when he was shot in the back during a poker game in 1876— a hand that became known as the Dead Man’s Hand.
Now, you can relive the illustrious tales of Wild Bill Hickok and gambling in the Wild Wild West with the stunning Dead Man’s Deck. This limited edition, collectors deck of playing cards has been modeled after the one Wild Bill Hickok was using on that fateful day with its worn-look and vintage-style faces.
However, what truly makes this deck one-of-a-kind is the unmistakable bullet hole that carries directly through its center. Which, of course, is completed with splatters of blood dripping off the Aces and Eights.
Every Dead Man’s Deck comes with a commemorative musket ball lodged into the scorched bullet hole and is a must-have addition to any playing card collection.
