Old Ironsides - November Kings Wild Shorts Sub Deck

Here are some pics of the tuck case for the November Kings Wild Shorts deck. This is my own take on USPCC "War Time" deck series from the early 1900's. It is called "Old Ironsides" and it features one of my favorite maritime vessels The USS Constitution also known as Old Ironsides which is the oldest ship in the US Navy still in service.
I haven't decided what the court cards will be just yet but I am deciding between my own Kings Wild standard courts with a classic color scheme. Or I thought of cleaning up the original court cards that were in some of the original War Time decks printed by USPCC.
These will be printed by Shuffled Ink here in the states so it will be very nice to put the "Made in the USA" on the side like the original War Time decks did.

For someone not familiar, do you have any examples of those original court cards?

I think its a shame that something inspired by a classic series of USPCC decks isn't being printed by USPCC.

Tis' ... maybe if the deck is well received I will re-release in the future and have USPCC print it. Sadly USPCC wouldn't even think about printing a 144 deck run.

There is nothing to out of the ordinary of the courts just the standard courts used by USPCC around the turn of the 20th century.

Another deck I can't wait to see. Something like this really would be nice by USPCC if it could be developed into a larger issue. I fully understand the volumes we are presently talking make that a total non-starter. It is really nice that you are committed to making sure even this small run is made in the US.

That's a very nice back design.
Lack of color does well for a design like this.

Nice! I live and work about 10 minutes from that ship. RJ Tomlinson (what ever happened to him BTW?) was tinkering with making a deck like this about 6-7 years ago but it never came to fruition. Wish I could own this one but alas.

The courts look great. I like how you are trying different vintage affects. Even the little things like the two cannon balls in the cloud of smoke from the cannons.
The way you had the hair with white and grey helped me envision the King and all the courts in the white wigs they used to wear back during the revolution period.

As a former naval seaman (insert joke here), I really like how you've incorporated the international maritime signal flags!

Now that is what I call a nice take on classic courts. So glad I managed to get a subscription!

Can anyone read what is written on the inside of the tuck case? I am having a hard time with it.

I don't think it's part of the design. It says stuff like "Front Panel," "Rear Panel," etc.

And here I was thinking it was some secret message.
I have noticed that the antique effect of the lines across the image don't affect some parts of the cards, particularly some of the black and red areas. I guess it would degrade the image more than preferred. I kind of find that interesting and like it. If I was OCD it might drive me insane.

The antiquing or "lined" effect is me creating the feel of a ship's deck with the paneled planks. I want the cards and such to feel like they might be painting on the side of a ship or deck... or something.

This deck just hit 88mph.
You're setting the bar pretty high for yourself with this subscription! Everything looks great! Hopefully you'll get some designs you want to eventually mass produce out of it, too.

All of the subscription have been gone since the first month they were offered... I think there will be more offered next year but for now each month is sold out for the near future.

There will be another 144 subs sold on December 14th. Not sure of the time. I expect them to sell out very quickly.
