Note to the OP: it was due to launch on Wednesday at 5pm [or 8am Thurs for us]. I'm quietly crossing my fingers that this is just a pair of decks. I'm not sure my bank account can sustain another blow right now.

Re: The Elixir Playing Cards by Seasons Playing Cards
Hey guys, just to give you a bit of insight about the moving launch date:
Hit a bit of a snaggle with the KS submission form. Basically I get stuck at the "identity confirmation" field page and won't let me put in more information after a certain point. I've never had to wait before but hopefully the information is just processing.
My bigger concern though is that the form might not actually be submitting the info since you can't actually exit the page without completing the form. But there is no actual confirmation of the information sent and more worrisome is that when you go back to the page the forms are completely blank again
Hopefully I'm just being a huge worry wart and everything will be confirmed to go out the door Wednesday/Thursday lol.
I know international creators have to go through verification. Can any international creators verify if what I'm encountering is normal or do you guys see different things?
@portcullis, it's a SUPER simple campaign made to be quick and dirty. Single deck or single box set.

@IAmtheChin: quick and dirty sounds fine with me. I'm still kicking myself in the heels at myself for missing your last quick and dirt [NPCCCD]. The rest is up to my bank account and remembering to set an alarm.

Heck portcullis, the NPCCD last year was a perfect launch time for you. I think it was midnight my time. That is a sweet set, it is still up in my office now in a 5x carat case.

Alex- It has always been almost instant verification for me. With what I've read in your post, I think it could be some intermittent glitch in the system and you might want to try again (or you would have already).IAmTheChin wrote:

Yeah, unfortunately I didn't hear about it completely accidentally until a month or so later -- for some reason -- would have been all over it had I known.Bradius wrote:Heck portcullis, the NPCCD last year was a perfect launch time for you. If not I'd try and reach out to them. I mean you're Alex Chin for God's sake! They should be able to find the time to help such a well-established KS campaign runner.guru wrote:Alex- It has always been almost instant verification for me. Damn you KS! I'm going to be offline on the 14th until the 15th, brief medical issue, so they'll probably be sold out. My Black and White label sets will be incomplete without this.
Move on, nothing to see here.

I need to get one of those done again, but for some reason I keep putting it off. I don't have any idea why.
I will try to add an extra set for you and we can work it out later. Now you can relax and enjoy your time off to have that delightfully relaxing procedure.

Re: The Elixir Playing Cards by Seasons Playing Cards
Just a heads up. It's looking like it's an actual glitch and not an identity confirmation thing. I have a support ticket out right now that finally got a reply back but we'll see how fast things go. This could possibly mean that the date might change again. Just think of this as part of the hunting experience lol.
This KS will be a bit different than my normal rollouts. I felt extremely bad because some people last time were overwhelmed and confused by the different options that when they received their pledges they thought they were getting something else (mostly those newer to the scene). So I tried to eliminate upgrades and add ons by just putting them all in on every deck straight out the gate. Every deck gilded and engraved.
There's really only 2 items to make it simple. The Black Elixir or the Cabinet Set (includes White Elixir). We'll see how people respond to this format though. The tiers might get a bit lengthy since I'm essentially eliminating add-ons but it should handle inventory control.

Re: The Elixir Playing Cards by Seasons Playing Cards
Not that I was at all personally affected by the ignominious blunder of the V1/V2 cabinet sets, but I'm still out here hopin' that this set will offer those that were a magical remedy (as its name suggests) to the issue of the incompatibly polarized magnets - like with an inbetweener cabinet that would work with both sets - that'd be pretty awesome and I think a great solution to the production fail.
I'm sure the procedure will be a pain in the ass, but seriously, best of luck & get well soon!
Also, I read "s+h" originally as shit, and in the context, it made me LOLRichK wrote:Need colonoscopy but my disability means I'm hospitalized day before for cleanout. If you or anyone can get me the set I can Paypal you the money with s+h. Thanks!

Does that mean to get the "White Elixir" i have to buy an expensive wooden box that i'm not interested in ?IAmTheChin wrote: There's really only 2 items to make it simple. Re: The Elixir Playing Cards by Seasons Playing Cards
This deck looks spectacular. I personally think embossing on a tuck is as important as foiling, and no one embosses tucks better than Alex. I appreciate that you're trying to simplify the options, but I have reservations on you just coming out with the highest end options. They're great for the collection and all, but I like to use my decks, so I'd like to see a standard version without the gilding that doesn't come in a Cabinet set. Gilding is pretty, but not practical and gets messed up quickly in regular usage. If I like a design, I will buy multiples of that deck, but if they only come in Cabinet sets, well, I don't need multiple cabinets.

I thought, from reading Kardify's article, there would be no cabinet. They could have skipped it though. Not having a Black + White (color shift) only, like you did with your previous two campaigns, is disappointing to me. But it's your campaign.

Re: The Elixir Playing Cards by Seasons Playing Cards
Great news guys. The Kickstarter is set! It looks like there was a real glitch with my form and after the support team handled it I went through verification and project review immediately. There's still a few glitches (like I can't actually list multiples of items) that still make me a bit worried but the main thing is that the project can actually be launched
Yeah I admit I'm also a bit wary of launching only limited like this but we'll see how it goes. This campaign was literally designed around the most recurring requests. It's not going to hit everyone perfectly but it's an experiment in fine tuning to backer feedback. I too was super gung ho about the color change but from the amount of distressed e-mails I had to answer to about ink not working, it didn't seem to be the highlight feature for a lot of people. I still get e-mails or PMs of people NOW realizing that their cards were in either a too hot or too cold a room and can see the color change differently. I guess it's not that intuitive? People cared more about the gilding and the engraving so I leaned into that and cut the extra ink run to try to bring pricing down as well.
Another fun addition although it's not that surprising ,but the number one request I got was for cellophane. I finally found a cellophane guy so if we hit a stretch goal this campaign will be able to provide numbered seals and cellophaning for all decks which would be a big step up into "recreating" the decks we're used to.
I know it would have been nice to be a bit more balanced with some display decks as well and in that sense this campaign will fall short. But since this is going to be the 5th and final deck of the Apothecary I really didn't want to create too many more variations and options and make this a big thing. I sort of wanted this to be the final cherry on top of the sundae as a nice close to the chapter to start something new.
