Being French speaking, that name annoys me a little in the sense of a blaring grammatical error. Peau which means skin, is a feminine noun and thus the adjective should match accordingly. Doux which means soft is a masculine adjective. Douce would have made more sense but it would have not match the dog's name. Soft Skin = Peau Douce

Anyway deck looks nice hehehe

Love the color, so I picked it up. But you know these will be available again. They always do this. They will be in the mystery deck sale.

Haha, I was thinking alike. When I read "Limited Release. Today only" I was immediately thinking about how they'll bend this to not be technically a lie when they sell them again.

limited release= only 2000 made
today only= this was the only day they would be available in Nov. the rest will be available to pad mystery pack sales, for christmas sales, to be sold next year and then the final amount will be a case ''found'' in their warehouse for another sale that is ''limited, today only, while quantities last''. oh, lets not forget about the decks that will be gilded and sold for 5x the price or more. we cannot count out a set of all the colors at some point.

Hate AoP marketing.
Love the colors.
Picked one up for a reasonable price.
I'm a happy boi.

Actually, genuine and honest marketing in the playing card world is only about 30% as far as I've observed.
I've learned to take it or leave it.
If you like it, grab it when you can; if you hesitate, don't cry when the same schemes show up again with jacked up prices.

Or at lower prices. Or are never seen again. Or flood the market.

It's HARD to be a collectah.

Push X for doubt.
It's the Bucktwins, lol. Of course it'll be seen again on one of their three websites.

Surely this will end up ultimately on Black Market Decks at a premium. But damn that color is nice.

I got a mixed feelings of this new release of Peau Doux:
While yes, the deck has Cardini's piece of history within, the color kills it

I'm on the fence of getting the deck

It's a product with a name attched to it. Cardini is eaten by the worms already. His legacy/history is his magic/impact not a deck of cards that someone unrelated to him put on the market. If you don't like the colour why would you buy it?

To me, being on the fence is pretty much a no. You will keep in your collection for a while, without ever fully liking it. Eventually, you will tire of it and then have to go through the arduous task of having to sell it. Something you were on the fence about just becomes work for you later on. I advise not buying it. I speak from experience. Future you will thank you.

Peau Doux, Deer Back. Available this Friday [Feb. 25] at 9am PST. ... Not just a color change. We call them Deer Backs. They are inspired by a rare edition of the Peau Doux brand of playing cards used by Cardini.

Hmmm interesting
This is as if Cardini is reincarnated in modern times and then he approached the Buck twins to design this deck

I have the blue deck and I like it. But for me, just one color is enough for this series.
