Me neither, but I heard that they had to made the borders for the Metalluxe Gold Split Spades thicker to apply Metalluxe. And I didn't see one deck with metalluxe where the foiling goes right until the edge of the card.
I'm thinking this might not be because of physical limitations of the Metalluxe technology, rather just USPCC taking their usual precautions regarding border thickness.
But why did they have to make the borders of an existing design (Split Spades), which was printed multiple times before, wider, if it has nothing to do with the MetalLuxe technology? Maybe Jody can update us after he got a response straight from the horse's mouth.

I never heard Chris explizitly mention that it is Metallux but it definetly makes sense, since they are printed at USPCC.

Oh, I see. Well, maybe they're EXTRA careful with Metalluxe decks :ugthink:

Same here, really is right on the cap end of what I like to spend on a deck that isn't really above and beyond all others. Don't get me wrong, this is a beautiful deck! But it also isn't the most beautiful deck I have ever seen.

I'm in the same boat; it is a beautiful deck but I'm still undecided whether I can follow through with the pledge.

Yeah I'm going to prune back my Kickstarter spending this year, but $190 (adjusted) for the first of the year is a heavy hit to absorb.

I'm in for an EB brick of the initial two decks and added on one of the Exquisite editions. I think the gilded are just too much for me. I'd rather get a brick of the red and blue standard editions, which is basically the same cost as the red, white and blue gilded sets. I might go in for one more Exquisite deck, but probably not. All that said, I really do like the design and am impressed with the past two decks by Jody. I need to get a metal detector and check my back yard for gold nuggets. I am sure they are out there.

Same here. Still thinking about the second Exquisite as well. But I had to go for a brick. I was really enchanted by this deck from the first court card creation timelapse seen on IG. I like it much more then Lotrek’s Charmers, which, in the end, I passed completely. And thus saved for this one. :) Next sure shot is Keymaster Tarot.

masagin303, I get your position on The Charmers from a design perspective if you are really looking for a wild new set of custom courts. That wouldn't have been appropriate for a magician's deck though. Also, when you consider the cold foil and the price, it was impossible to pass up. Of course I am also an insane nut job when it comes to just about anything with Lotrek's name. So, of course I got 3 bricks. That may sound insane (is insane), but remember my all in cost was $466 shipped for 36 cold foil decks and 3 cold foil and gilded decks in custom brick boxes. That works out to $12 per deck, including the gilded decks including shipping. For cold foil decks, that is insane. I just couldn't pass it up. His work on The Entertainer was spectacular.

Is anyone else confused by this pledge Tier? It seems cheaper to get this one than adding on the set for Early Birds to add on or swap.

What am I missing? 5 gilded decks total, right? Seems like a no-brainer if it is correct in the description.

I feel the same, campaign is quite confusing compared to other campaigns I've been involved in. The EB deal I have doesn't feel like a good deal anymore.not sure I'm gonna switch, may do or just downgrade...decisions!

I dumped my EB deal for the 5 gilded with two cases deal. But yes, it seems confusing - like he got caught flat-footed with the quickness of the backing and didn't have stretch goals and tiers fully fleshed out ahead of time.

About to dump my EB for that deal as well, but any more of this and I might be out, seems like its getting to confusing. Also $160+ for 5 decks really seems on the high end, might end up dumping this pledge as well and just got for the $77 USD tier.

I still think a silver gild will look better with the blue deck with blue being a colder colour in my eyes. I posted on the Kickstarter but didn't get a response. Maybe at least consider the excuusite gilded being silver? Thoughts?

Well, Jody is sitting at $88k and 1,200 backers with 21 days to go. The design is awesome, so I am glad it is doing great. I am passing on the gilded decks, but it looks like Jody will do fine without me spending hundreds on that stuff. Average spend per backer is an impressive $73.

I'm just hoping there won't be bad news regarding foiled borders and MetalLuxe. If Jody - judging by his last post - didn't check before making the mock-up, I'm honestly dreading the worst...

I definitely agree it would be a nice touch to differentiate the two versions and blue would look incredible with the silver gilding. +1

So I think the single color metalluxe back on the Exquisite seals it for me. Downgrading from the gilded to standard decks, and probably just the red and blue. Not really feeling the all gold look of the new Exquisite.

QHoping to see the metal card unlock though, seems cool.

For what it's worth, I switched over to the "Exquisite + Luxury" tier.

Originally, I did the an EB pledge swap for the Exquisite set, then added-on two normal decks, and the luxury case. Total was $190.
The "Exquisite + Luxury sets" set was $172.

Basically, I upgraded the normal decks to gilded ones, and got a $20 discount.
This is me, though I really should update me.

This is why I stopped getting Jody's decks. Same face cards, multiple backs, gilding, etc.

I can't see how that white deck MetalLuxe will work. Way too intricate. USPCC couldn't get their Rider back Metalluxe perfect so how bad will this be?
Move on, nothing to see here.

In a few hours, the Sovereign campaign will be funded with great success, but I backed out at the very last moment. I've sent a message to Jody for the reason I backed out, but I think it might be a worthwhile consideration for us as a user's community to voice our concerns over the USPCC registration issue, so here is my feedback:
Hi Jody,

Eventually, I decided to back out of the project (the Exquisite deck) at the last minute, sorry about that...

I have to say though that it's not because I don't like the project, but it's due to USPCC's increasing horrendous registration issue. The MetalLuxe, artistic-wise, would definitely be great for the deck, but if USPCC is not going to address its registration issue or that creators can't guarantee Q1 quality from USPCC, I think as a customer and a member who hopes that qualities could remain decent in the field, that actions have to be taken to voice our concern... Heck, even USPCC can't guarantee their Q1 quality is well-registrated as it seems on threads on UC like the Theory11 decks.

Therefore, I hope to let you know that this is my rationale for backing out and not towards the project itself. As a wee customer, our voice won't be recognized by USPCC, but creators like you might make a difference if you could convey your frustration toward the printing giant. Hope you could understand this, but my most sincere congratulations for the success to come in a few hours! :D

Kind regards,
Ted
