Um... I'm calling a party foul on this one. Even when you add a smiley face, it's still against our rules of engagement.
Try again, please.
(Although, you made the absolutely right call with regard to Looney Tunes winning it's match-up against Disney.)

Teller of course. He's the brain behind the tricks. Plus his silence makes him perform with his hands, body language and facial expression even more.
Here's a tough one. For me, Disney doesn't even come close to either of them in terms of storytelling.

I should have responded earlier that Pixar rulez, Ghibli droolz.
Anyway. Since you've retracted and posted a new one, I have to go with Cinema for the win. Streaming is awesome after you've seen it for real in the movie theater, but you just can't beat the real theater experience.

I've not seen the Ghibli one prior. Allan's answer is obviously meant to be posted on opposite day.
Ghibli wipes the floor with every studio out there; Mononoke Hime alone gets that job done.
Same goes for French courts of course - unless the premise is being closest to retarded, inbred royals then English courts clearly take the cake.
Netflix vs. Hulu vs. Amazon Prime (only the streaming service)

So just to get this back running it has to be Netflix by default!

Re: ----------> The Versus Thread <----------
Interesting conundrum. All three have their distinct strengths and weaknesses. Plus, each of the later ones had the advantage of being able to build upon, and reply to, those that came before. Further, we've had a chance to let them establish themselves over time. I've only just tonight seen Reeves' version for the first time, whereas I've seen the Burton and Nolan entries many, many times over.
At the moment, I think I'm going to give Nolan the edge over Reeves, but only by a hair, and I suspect that over time, Reeves' version may take the top spot among these three. (I notice you don't include Snyer's 1st, which would have made the conversation even more interesting.)
So, yeah. For now, I'll say Nolan's.

My guess is that's because he didn't have a solo film. While he's my favorite version of Batman, I wouldn't call him the "best" Batman. He's a specific anti-hero/villain version of Batman (in BvS, at least).

Re: ----------> The Versus Thread <----------
Yup, that's correct. It's the solo Batman films I was referring to.
Now that I've seen the movie, I'm slightly better to answer. Never watched Gotham Tv series, but from the snippets, it looks like Corey captured the comics Riddler very well. Jim Carrey was just too cartoony, but that was due to the script rather than Jim. His other movies show his range and I don't doubt he could have played the Corey version and the Dano versions very well. Paul Dano's version is scary and unpredictable. Making him an equal to the Joker rather than playing second fiddle to Joker. But will it be too much Joker like? Let's see how Reeves' Joker plays out first.
So from the pure movie perspective, I'll have to give it to Paul Dano.
Agree with you on Zoe's Catwoman. Feels like she or the script was trying too hard to be cool and strong Catwoman. Anne's version was just the right balance.
This is a tougher one as they are all excellent actors. I'm including Jeremy Irons here as his part in BvS is still the same with the others, which is between Alfred and Bruce Wayne/Batman.
Best Alfred:
Michael Gough vs Michael Caine vs Jeremy Irons vs Andy Serkis

No sleight to Jeremy Irons, as he played the role perfectly. Andy Serkis is easy to ignore as he only had a minute or two of screen-time in The Batman. Nothing against Michael Gough, either, but his Alfred didn't do much for me. Caine got me to cry in The Dark Knight Rises, and his performance throughout the trilogy is nothing but charismatic.
The gentleman from Gotham is up there with Caine and Irons, too.
Did we do Superman yet? I'm going to keep the list somewhat short:
Christopher Reeve vs Brandon Routh vs Henry Cavill
Tom Welling is excluded as he was only Superman for a single scene in Smallville.

Re: ----------> The Versus Thread <----------
Same reason why I didn't bother with the Adam West Batman even though there was a Batman movie starring the Joker and the others like Penguin, Catwoman and Riddler as well. Just too far removed for most of us and reflects a very different time in both comics and movies.
I have to go with Michael Caine as well. With the trilogy, he got his own character arc. Michael Gough had less screen time to shine, and his shining moment unfortunately appeared in probably the worst Batman movie, which I have no intention of watching.
Let's see how Andy's Alfred develops over the next 2 movies.

Re: ----------> The Versus Thread <----------
I agree with all y'alls assessments of the Alfreds, for all the same reasons.
As for Superman, each performer has his strengths, and I like them all. Brandon Routh has certainly improved greatly as an actor in the years since his turn in the red cape. Even so, and as much as Henry Cavill brings to the table (and, he really does bring a lot), I have to go with Christopher Reeve as the king of them all. Unlike Cavill, who was an amazing Superman, Reeve could act circles around him playing Clark Kent as a distinct character from Supes. Relatively early in Superman II, Reeve has a scene with Lois Lane where he transforms from Kent to Superman while simply standing (mostly) still, and it's amazing.
Instead of best actor / actress for a franchise character, let's try the best franchise character for an actor / actress:
Best Harrison Ford: Han Solo Vs Indiana Jones Vs Rick Deckard Vs. Jack Ryan

Re: ----------> The Versus Thread <----------
Didn't have time to digest the Superman VS as it's been very busy 2 weeks.
But yeah, I also go with Reeves over Cavill. Couldn't quite nail it down why until Allan stated it so well. Reeves played Kent just as well as Superman, whereas Cavill was not given much Kent screentime to really flesh out his take on Kent.
Cavill is pretty good, based on his MI and UNCLE roles, but can't comment on this one as I've not watched The Witcher. He's slowly building his resume as one of the next gen action guy after the Rock and Statham. Would be cool to see him with the Rock and Statham if there's a next Expendables.
