That makes me wonder what the uncut tucks will look like. Always love having TGW uncuts when they're available.

Figured I should make this side-by-side comparison between the OG Parlour and upcoming Parlour Royale. Parlour deck made better with the Royale ones~ Lorenzo is definitely “Lisan al-Ghaib” of custom playing cards.
PS: the blue back is borrowed from macsrat’s Playing Card Scans Archives

I do really like the old back minus the empty space. I could've done without the writing on the backs of the new ones, but Lorenzo did a good job with creating depth and refining a lot of elements.

I really much prefer the old one and in this comparison for the color
I pretty much prefer it in every way especially for being textless
This is why we all have different decks in our collections

Nice subtle 1-way back design there. Handy to have if you want to do a few tricks.

I prefer the new back design for the fact alone that it is correctly oriented now.

I’m assuming I haven’t missed these? Does anyone know a rough timeline? EDIT: nvm just seen Lorenzo working on them on his story lmao

As long as there isn't 7 or 8 different decks like usual. 3 is more than enough.

That's seems on brand for Omar when he doesn't have a project to promote. Nothing out of the ordinary there, although I did thoroughly enjoy the podcast and hope we'll see more episodes.
I'm upset that WJPC had a giveaway and is handing out Beetlebacks decks as one of the random prizes and we've yet to receive our decks as backers. I imagine that campaign needs to fulfill first before we see movement in others.

I dont know where Kevork heard about it, but Wyrmwood mentioned it happening to both them and Omar...possibly in their case using stock that WJPC destroyed (after short changing their run). It just not cool in any case but part of a wider pattern of WJPC just becoming less reputable(sadly)

I had seen two different collectors posting receiving a Beetlebacks deck from a WJPC giveaway much to my chagrin. They weren't even backers and had no idea this is an unfulfilled campaign. I want to be clear that this isn't any fault of Omar, but definitely not great practice for a printing company to do.

Was there any deal in place for them to not do that? What are the "wider" array of problems?

Yeah, that a BS move on WJPCs part.

Ive heard about them from two card producers
wyrmwood
didnt ship the purchased decks in the proper quantities for groundskeeper (and they insist on being 100% paid in advance)
worked all the way through sample printing then...lost the entire progress to that point and had to start over from art import for corrupted
still hasn't shipped corrupted
charged for reprinting the earlier mentioned underrun on groundskeeper then included some of them in the giveaway
something about stock they destroyed and then charged for I think again with the groundskeeper situation.
S17,
made their own decision to change back colors on cards and then insisted that sending a picture without response constituted "approval" vs the agreed upon physical samples which were printed with a different method than the final mass production method.
colors have been off on a few test prints.
and some just in general bad communication.

Wasn't there someone else who complained that WJPC made executive decisions on their own to change some design elements? Maybe I'm thinking of the S17 example.
In Lorenzo's case, I believed it contributed to delay on his Patreon to where he paused payments for an entire month.

You might be thinking of Curio with War of Realms where there was a gilding issue.

I might have been thinking about that yes here is what curio said I thought someone said point blank that a card producer had said "we thought this would look better" not sure context but this wasnt that quote.
In the spirit of full transparency, some slight tweaks had to be made - tweaks that come with the territory. Printers are not perfect and WJPC has let me down a bit. These aren't serious issues but the result is that I didn't get to do what I had in my mind, due to poor communication and mistakes that were made by WJPC.
First Issue: the gilding color for Fera will be more of a teal instead of the light, baby blue I wanted. Not a huge issue but it was irksome because the fix would mean re-printing the entire deck and gilding from scratch, which would add weeks. Wires were crossed about the gilding choice and that led to the color below. It's still lovely and it looks amazing - just not what my picky self wanted

as for S17 yes I think the delay that resulted from having to reprint that deck (after fighting WJPC as to who would pay for it) contributed to the pause in patreon.

Definitely not that, that issue was his fault, bad source files and they tried to warn him but he missed what they were pointing out until it was too late. Also that that was Kingstar not WJPC.
there was definitely a case last year where someone gilded a deck different than the provider "because that looked better". I did think that it was Montenzi.

I'm not referring to that. This is a quote from him in the Legendarium thread,
"There are also companies that are overly proactive and make changes without asking, and this happens frequently. I've had such cases with WJPC, where I was shocked by the changes, with comments like "it's better this way." Thankfully, these were caught at the approval stage."

Does TGW just do kickstarters or is there a patreon? Also do we recon this will launch once the beetlebacks issues are sorted?

The goldsmith deck was supposed to be the first release in a kind of patreon replacement model but it didn't get as many sales as planned and the next one in that series is likely to be a kickstarter instead, so primarily its kickstarters.
Yes Omar has said he has 2 projects waiting on fulfillment, this almost certainly is one of them.
